O-Ring Chain Maintenance

What is best to leave an o-ring chain soak in? I have new sprockets coming in soon, so I have been letting my chain completely soak in WD-40. It's been two days now that it's been soaking, is this okay for the chain? I've been hearing mixed opinions.

uhhh soak in wd40? Prob not a good idea, WD40 has solvent in it. Im not sure if that will eat at the o-rings though. 2 days is crazy too, im gonna say you probably did some damage to it.

Just soak it in kerosene for an hour or so and scrub it with a hard brisled brush and then let it dry. boom, clean chain

If it has frozen links soaking it will not help,it is toast.

The quickest way to kill a o ring chain is spray it with a pressure washer.

Diesel and kerosene

An o-ring chain is sealed with rubber gommets. So never use a pressure washer or hard steel brush on it, it will kill your seals and your chain will develop rusted links.

WD40 is crap for using on a chain, you'll need to rinse it after since it attracts dirt and dust.

Like other said, o-ring chains are sealed and only need something to prevent rust. I've had o-ring chains on ATV's in the past and used WD-40 on them with no issues. The solvent in it doesn't appear to be strong enough to damage the rubber.
