I rode a friends KTM 450 SMR 2009 a few years ago on a track without dirt and it was extremely fun! I would love to get a KTM SMR or a TM SMR but supermoto is just too expensive for my budget...

I raced Superbike for 10 years and used sm as training for the last 3 of it, then I fell in love with sm racing and haven't done SB since lol.

That wheelie pic is just pure traction!

I haven't ridden one of these bikes, but when I think of SuperMoto, I think of Motocross, plus an element of what you used to see in the 500cc two stroke GP's. I call it "violence of traction", a play on a military term, but basically I am referring to the brutal high-side that you can get on pavement and some other situations when you get the sudden transition from traction to sliding or sliding to traction. It seems that the window for error is smaller on pavement than on dirt.

Yea, you'd think it would be violent, but in my personal experience which is before any traction control devices, or trick stuff like that the high sides on superbikes happened so freakin fast that you just couldn't hardly tell the point between spinning up the rear and getting launched 10 feet in the air. Now on the sm bikes for some reason it's much easier to spin the tire for much longer and I've never experienced that sudden snap of traction. I will tell you though in 10 years of superbike racing and many crashes I always walked away, but 2 years in motocross and I've been more beat up than I can count lol...

Love Mettet and back to the old original track thie year it will be awesome

i was invited again this year would have been in the same tent as Febvre with the new yamaha but i don't have the time

great memories from Mettet , apart from changing wheel about 50 times over the weekend that weather is crazy

Going to be my first time racing Mettet this weekend, I can't wait. Been to watch my dad race there quite a few times when I was a kid, pretty cool that my first time competing there is going to be back on the legendary street circuit.

I've seen a lot of guys make the switch.

Usually right after they see how well a supermoto crashes compared to a superbike.

There's no tossing a superbike down the track at 80 mph and then picking it up and continuing on afterward.

Good luck , going to be an awesome event , makes sure you have spare wheels the weather changes so fast there , i ran pretty much the same gearing as 3 sisters
