Jeez. Those snowmobile guys are seriously tough. I was watching some of the Snowcross races on the GoPro Youtube page recently, absolutely mental. Serious respect for those guys

I counted 7 seconds. That's a 750+ foot jump and his impact speed was around 150mph. That's nuts if that video isn't slowed down any. It looks like it was real time.

Definitely slowed down, has to be, doesn't it? The impact to me looked way to slow for the distance...

The freefall looks 100% slow motion. Either side of that looks real time.

Insane....."Hey there's a cliff with a 100 ft drop over vicious rocks, let's go!!"

I was in Eagle River WI a couple weeks back announcing the Ice Oval World Championships.
Those are some pretty nutty bastards too.
600cc sled going 90+mph on a half mile ice oval.....good times.

wow... that was nuts... i can''t even imagine doing something like that!

we're really into snowmobiling all winter, unfortunately this winter has been absolute shit for us.

wouldn't be so bad, except that i broke down and bought a new sled this year. we went up to Afton Wyoming last weekend and got into some awesome snow.

this kind of shit is just out of control though... i've done some pretty gnarly shit on a sled but that's just asking to get hurt in my opinion.

ps... here's my new ride, 2014 SkiDoo 800 Summit X 163, figured i'd post it here as it's the only snowmobile thread i've come across. anyone else into the sport?

I actually ran across a sled on craigslist here a while back. I have no idea why someone in Arkansas has a sled. Must have just recently moved here, haha

Wow, that's nice, is that what would be considered an MX type sled Peel?

Also, do you have to do a lot to them out of the box suspension and motor wise ?

thanks man, it's about as close to moto on the snow as it gets right there, it's incredibly ride-able in the deeper snow. it's not setup for sno-cross, those are usually the shorter track models. mine is a mountain sled. there is a break-in period that you have to get through, it's a computer program, but other than that it's ready to go right off the floor. mine is the X version, so think of it like the KTM Factory Edition compared to just the 450.

Awesome sled peelout. Love the Ski Doo X sleds and would love to some day ride out in the big country that you live near. We have some pretty good trail riding here in the mitten and especially the U.P.

Me! Unfortunately I'm a flatlander. My excitement comes from hitting road approaches and going thru the twisties/trees. Going out west is on my bucket list...anyone want to be my guide??

I have met and rode with some of these guys, Dan Treadway,, Jeff Kyle, and Rob Alford. they are insanely talented and fearless. but not stupid, a drop like that will take hours to set up properly so that they will live to jump another day ! lol They are extremely tough and on par with the top talent on Dirt bikes ! just watching them do their thing is amazing
