No Lakewood next year?

9/11/2012 3:14 PM

From one of my riding acquaintance. No idea where he got it from, but Tuesday is a good day to start a rumor.

Rumor is that Lakewood is likely to lose its MX National next year. Loretta Lynn’s is the track trying to wrestle the race away from Thunder Valley and it appears they will be successful.

I'll bite. IMO LL's current track is not a National caliber track.

9/11/2012 3:26 PM

they should move it to Pala.

Pala and Elsie in the same schedule, sounds brotastic

Loretta lynns as the new pro national and Indian Hills in Illinois as the new Loretta's.

I'm completely talking out of my ass, cause that's all we do here anymore.

9/11/2012 3:31 PM

A track on a hill that gets replaced with something flat, sounds familiar?

9/11/2012 3:34 PM

News to me! You might want to check your sources!

9/11/2012 3:35 PM

I have heard rumors of the possibility of something happening at Loretta's...but I'm not sure it'd be on the current track.

I haven't heard of anything about Lakewood going away.

The chance of Pala returning to the National schedule is at least equal to the chances of Glen Helen...or Saddleback. Or Carlsbad...or Lake Whitney.

Thanks for checking in, David.

Hell yeah!! Music to my ears..

Hopefully this means both PA nationals stay!! Both tracks are natural amphitheaters that allow excellent fan viewing and the updated track layout is titties.. Please DC keep both of them.. In exchange we promise to be on our best behavior, courteous to all and never tuck our ears in our hat or say bro... Thanks in advance, hope you can make it happen

mjskier, sorry, I deleted one of David's duplicate messages, and that was the one that you'd quoted...which deleted your reply.

Whoops.

So, there's going to be a National at Lorretta's...?

Oh, ok.

Matthes. He's SO Hot this year. Matthes.

No worry. This rumor died shortly after the gate dropped anyway. David, thanks for putting it to rest.

I do love it when a horses mouth makes a cameo appearance on here from time to time to put things straight.

Whatever the horse of the day might happen to be at the time.

Not to say anybody looks or smells like a horse, BTW....

Oh, ok.

Across the creek lies hundreds of acres of untapped potential. The LL Amateur National track can remain untouched.
Look at a Google Earth view sometime.

Just "stuff" I heard. (ex girlfriend's stepdad's half-sister's uncle told me)

Never heard Lakewood's demise mentioned, ever.

So, Tennessee get's a National?

I'm of the impression that even Alabama is better situated for a Nat...

Not to mention GA, SC, NC.

If you build it, you need them to come see it.

A Big City...near by, is kind of a good idea.

Lorretta's is out there a bit...

When I look at how good the turn out is at the ATL-SX...?

I get the impression that the Nat needs to be "centralized" in the S.E.

Hope you are not as big a retard and your "riding acquaintance" or maybe you and he are one and the same.

Do you feel lucky punk?

I was sort of just addressing your question about a National "at Loretta's".
I never said a national was coming to Tennessee.

1 hour from Nashville isnt't "close" to a city? Just as close as some I could think of on the schedule

That is funny! And true

A national on Lorettas property wouldn't surprise me at all. DC commented this summer on the amount of land that she owns. Maybe a separate national track with the national the weekend before Lorettas for the ultimate super charged weekend of motocross.

Christ, I'm getting hyped up thinking about it. Too much of a good thing? ..............doubt it.

I'm not EVEN trying to "harsh" the music city; but, it...alone?

Not a big enough market.

I hate that. What's the point of having an Internet if you can't use it to just make stuff up and let it soak in until it's "common knowledge"? And yes, I know that the thread stated that it was just a rumor from the beginning. Shows it was done by an amateur. He should have said that he heard it straight from Ryan Dungey. Or better yet, Mike Brown. He oughta know what's going on at Loretta's.

Bring it to Honeylake Mx. All natural old school mx. My personal all time favourite. http://www.honeylakemx.com/

I'll have to remember that the day I want to start a "real fake " rumor.
So I went back to my source and asked WTF?. His description of his source (notice that at this point I was already 3rd hand) was "He is a little wacko but knows the industry"

Loretta's is not even close to being a pro-national level track

Yea, but you have to admit, it would be super cool for them to open the gates up and let them race Saddleback.

If you take away a mans ability to fail, you take away his will to succeed.

You were not born a winner, and you were not born a loser. You are what you make yourself be.

if this happens.....just goes to show you that the series is liek any other business..corrupt and $$ talks.

national tracks have big jumps and big hills....we have 2 man made jump tracks already..we dont need another one.

KEEP WORKING, MILLIONS ON WELFARE DEPEND ON YOU!

You may be talking out your ass, but this is not the first i have heard of this mentioned.

Don't even think about taking Lakewood off the schedule.

My yearly moto/vacation trip to Colorado has become a tradition that I cherish even more than
Thanksgiving and Christmas combined.

9/11/2012 8:26 PM

I've heard talk of one day having a national on another part of Loretta Lynn's spacious ranch -- I started it myself in the beer tent one night -- but I never would have guessed my own rumor would reach the "taking place of Lakewood" stage or any other race on the current schedule in just over a month. The internets are getting faster!
