Is it really a big deal that Nick Wey doesn't have a team. Why not give some young talented kid a chance at a nice ride.

+1 Wey is only around because the kids in the Lites never move up. He will have a hard time making a SX main this yr. The new bump up rule means the end of guys like Nick Wey.

Nyk is a consistent top ten finisher with a lites win under his belt! Compare lap times nyk is faster than most rookies! He stays healthy and shows up at every race! Why take a chance on a rookie if you are a business/team owner? Bottom line is a guy like wey is better for business than most kids!

Exactly, especially on a team with J-law, you want someone who's going to be in the main each night to get your sponsors exposure.

There are kids that were Amatuer's 3 months ago that can beat Wey. Regal, Wilson,Tomac ect.. would lay waste to him. Wey has had a solid career. Wey may of made more money with ZERO expectations that any rider in this sport. His 8th-10th place finishes are more about riders getting hurt than Nick Wey killing it on the track.

Wey has podiumed on a privateer MDK Honda, and was a huge help in getting MSR back in the supercross/motocross scene, so I wouldn't count him out...

RMZ, Wey is still valuable because he can top 10 and manage to stay in a championship series for ALL the rounds consistently.

Others like the ones you mentioned may be faster at times and have a lot of upside but there is no way they will beat him this year in 16 rounds of supercross.

Nyk's focus is going to be clearer this year than the last few. The class is deeper this year as well though; hopefully his new plan works out. I'm pullin for him.

He could always move into the career of logging. The way he pushed that tree stump around his compound was something else...
