After a few months of searching around, I finally pulled the trigger. She needs a little TLC, but I got it for cheap. It does have a small crack in the rear wheel, so if anyone has a spare laying around, I'd be happy to take it off your hands for a fair price. I'll post more pics as I progress.

I had that bike but don't any longer. I probably have a rear wheel, I'm pretty sure its in good shape too. I'll grab it tomorrow and snap some pics and see what other parts I have.

Check your RC cables regularly, if they are loose, that bike will be slow. It takes two cables and their like 12 bones a piece.

If you can't swing a pipe right now the stocker is hard to beat, I stripped all the paint off mine after I had read the team used them back then..also I have an Boyesen exhaust flange and a spacer from Storm racing to fool the motor into thinking the head pipe is longer, a VForce, and went one up on the rear sprocket all contributing to low end which was a complaint some had, but mine is fine and once you shift that bitch to 3rd it's gone...The only bike that had more HP that year was the KTM250...
The cables are easy to adjust and checked every now and then and you'll be fine...

A little TLC? How about hardly any TLC. Thing looks super clean for a 12yr old scooter. Nice find man.

Those forks suck ass compared to the Showas. If he put $100 in springs and oil into the Showas no amount of money would make those Zokes equal. Garbage...

Keep an eye on your frame spars, I don't know if its vibrations, or certain runs of (aftermarket) plastic, but gripping the shrouds tight will wear a groove in the spars.

I've got a complete rear wheel and just a rim, both are stock. Let me know if you want one.

here's the article I was looking for, my buddy found this for me after I had the bike for a year and was ready to sell it.
Was like a whole new bike.

A friend passed up a sweet '03 and bought an '02 that had looked to be owned by a freestyler..he started to boast about how he thought his bike was faster and challenged me to a drag race in which he knows I hate, so I did it.. I smoked his ass 3 times in a row and he was so pissed that he wanted to go get his money back..I knew what the problem was and told him to bring the bike by and I would fix it..

His RC cables were stretched pretty bad from poor maintenance and I did everything that I had done to my bike..when he got it back he was so jazzed because it was a whole new bike to him...

All the plastics do that, that's pretty deep..I only use OEM plastics from www.servicehonda.com as well as all my parts because of the prices..I don't buy from the shop unless it's small screws or tires..with SH the shroud graphics come with the stock wing for any year because the plastic is the same from '02-'07 and fit right on just like the showroom..

Has anyone tried the team graphics from throttle jockey on an older CR? Do the graphics show "CRF" or do they change it to "CR"? I really wanted a stock look, but I read the OEM style graphics from Factory FX need to be modified to fit.

Get the stock shrouds from Service Honda they come with the year wing you want and are exactly what you get from the showroom floor and the real deal, nothing to worry about just mount the shrouds..the graphics are already on there...They'll say CR for sure...

Thanks Lenny. I checked their website but wasn't really having any luck finding the shrouds. Maybe I'll just give them a call.

Take the stock carb, walk out your front door, ......and throw it as far as you can. Then go out and get a kehin air stryker carb and that bike will run like a completly different sccoter.

Yeah that'll work and they'll get you what you want , plus their prices are better than going thru Honda, I buy all my parts from them...

You're not the first person to mention that. The 38mm, correct?

I have one of the air stryker carbs with the electronics on it if you are interested. I think I paid $50 plus shipping for it, so if you want it for the same price, let me know.
