Was yard sailing with the wife yesterday and I saw a knobby. I ask if I could look at it they said yes but told me someone was coming back to get it. I ask what he offered and they said $100 , I pulled out $300 and loaded it up.

I'd say you got a great deal. Bet the other guy coming back with the $100 was pissed.

First off, great find! I would have jumped all over that too...

I can't help but feel it's a bit shitty that someone else made a deal to buy and the guy sold it to you without at least telling the other guy there was a better offer. Not you, the seller.

Wow, what a LOSER ! I would have offered $100.01 and called it a day.

Just kidding, beautiful bike. That baby is a classic, and a steal of a deal.

+1. That isn't right how that went down. First guy should have been told about your offer.

You never know if that guy would even come back with $100. Money in hand takes the cake for me. I've been stood up way to much to wait.

This
Money talks is right, if i was the first guy that offered the 100$, i would of called someone to bring the money to me. I wouldn't have left that bike. I can't really blame the seller on this, as cash is king in those circumstances, but i feel for the first guy, thinking he got it for a hundy and then boom buzz kill.
Bike looks like it will clean right up, great find.

great deal! Cash in hand, would have done same thing. Those shocks alone are worth $400+

By using heir, obviously. Especially on a Wendy day.

Absolute steal. If the engine turns at all, it is easily worth 1500 in current condition without any cleanup, or even getting it running. And you could swap off the shocks for NJBs and still get that.

Engine turns over good and the compression is good, have not started it yet. I want to change the oil and plug first before I try.

Gorgeous find, lady luck was on your side that day my man. Feel for the poor sap who missed out, but he'll live. You gotta do what you gotta do.

Old air filters will dry rot and disintegrate. Replace it if you don't want it to get sucked through the engine.

I think its a 1974, yes I checked the air filter and it will get replaced just forgot to mention that with the plug and oil change.

I don't know all that much about vintage bikes (I'm sure there are many on here who do however) but you definitely scored IMO. That thing would make a great winter project.

I think we are all jealous. Dig in and find out exactly which model it is as I'm not too familiar with the old Husky's. Really only ever worked on one of them. It was a bit special...

AMSRacing.com probably has air filters in stock and John at Vintage Husky has everything.

Yeah '73 or '74 360

But for some reason I wanna say '74 had lay down shocks, but it may be 1975 that they switched.

That is pre-1974, judging by the swingarm. '74s had the shocks moved up a little and a gusseted swingarm. Edit: The MX model, anyway; I was guessing a 1973 400 MX. 1975s had the laydown chassis. Can't remember how long they did the 360 offroad model with the pre-74 swingarm.
