Should I trade my 2015 ktm250sx for this 2016 ktm 350sxf with approx 25 hours on it.. comes with all the stock parts as well. I would have to add 1k boot. Good deal? What do I look for on a 4 stroke for signs of wear engine wise? Also we could just swap our forks out since they're the same forks so we would both have our own set up.. thanks guys!

I've swapped my 250f setup to a 125, mostly for the SSS KYB's. Didn't work out as well as hoped, but obviously the weight difference should be closer 250 to 350. Just don't expect the same performance for either if you make the fork switch.

Just a couple of things to consider:

-do you do your own work on the 2T?

-can you do your on work on a 4T?

-what type of riding/racing are you going to be doing?

-have you ridden a 350f much?

-which is more fun?

-did anyone own it before the other guy?

-why does he want to trade?

-if something does happen to the 4T motor are you aware of the costs?

Sounds like you are impatient selling your bike. Go buy the bike you really want & be patient while your current bike is for sale, it will eventually sell because there is an ass for every seat. If you cannot afford to hold your current bike for sale & buy the bike you really want, you should not be owning a 4 stroke. In the garage of every smart 4 stroke owner is a trusty 2 stroke, for when it all goes wrong with the 4 stroke....and at some point it will go wrong....if you both feel like your getting screwed.....it"s a fair deal....

That is a very, very good deal for you.

I would go through with it before the guy with the 350 changes his mind.

The 16 350 is a great bike other than the forks! Sounds like a good deal if it is in good shape.

I'm gonna try and see if the guy will let me take the clutch cover off and look at the clutch basket grooves

You won't find any it has a steel basket but might find some on the hub . I have a 17 350 and it's the best bike I've every ridden .

So what's the best way to look for wear?

I look at the cases of the engine. Look at the swing arm and the front of the lower forks. Looks for lots of nicks and scratches. You can clearly tell when a bike has lots of hours on it. Plastics can be replaced so those don't show hours. If it was rode hard you should be able to see it. I hope it works out for you!
