I know that nothing can really be known until a couple rounds in but just from A1 these are my predictions for the year.
1. EVERYONE is going to have their hands full with Villopoto. The intensity that he is riding with is unparalleled by any of the others. If any of the other rides are going to beat him they are going to have to get a better start than he does and get him off of his own game.
2. James Stewart WILL NOT race outdoors unless he gets top 2 in the Supercross season. Looking at him just ride around in the main until he saw hope when Dungey and Reed went down was pretty sad. He just doesn't seem to have the motivation and drive. I know that he may have just been trying to get out of A1 in one piece but it was still a sad showing.
3. Tomac is going to take the West coast championship. Barring a season full of crashes he seemed to be a man on a mission. His riding seemed to be ALL business. Not too much flash just going out there and putting in work. Good to see.
4. Dungey and Reed will be consistent as always but will need to be able to pull a holeshot and stop the train roll that is RV1(formerely known as RV2).
It was great to see Hahn make it through practice and be out there fighting for the win. He was ON Rattray before he went down. Hopefully that will get him some confidence going into phoenix.
My biggest fear is this season's 450 class is going to be a snoozer. With the way Villopoto rode at A1 it is a real possibility. But I can't wait to find out.
