This is not gonna be a transformation like Fonzies (wish I had the time & cash for that), its just a little tired looking.

Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get cleaning up engine/ carb/ wheels (these are not pretty but was let down on a deal and have spent the cash I did have - daughters when do they ever stop being a drain??). Have got plenty scotchbrite at the ready and a half decent cleaning spray.

I did pick up frame from powdercoating today and it looks [b]NICE[b] but have been unable to find tall frame guards for older model KTM so have got the choice of Rhino tape (hhmmm no sure) or ORANGE gaffer tape (more than enough if I have to do redo it lots!!).

Have done a couple of small things that had to be done (it was a bit harum scarum with no front brake after hose gave up!!)

I love the 04 plastics (first 1 bolt seat) Actuall my fave of all KTMs. I'm need ing a good jug if you happen to know of any, mines a 02 125sx and 02 200exc motor but i may put the sx gear box with mine and give it a go for a change. If you need any spare bits I have a completle spare bike. Keep us up on all the work!

Buy some Nihilo concepts KTM orange grip tape off of ebay. Find a set that is similar to your frame and modify it to fit if you have to.

I bought '05 plastics for mine. The tank spoilers and rear fender are a bit smaller and pointy, looks a bit better imo.
And this generation of KTM's is my fav looking aswell. The '06 with black 'new gen' frame and fork tubes looks te best imo. The rear shock looks better aswell. Those bikes are just perfect in stock trim.

Few bits I have to go on, picking up plastics Monday but have not decided on which graphics yet. Tail pipe should be here by the end of the week.

Off the refurb topic but may be of use.
I ended up putting an EXC piston in my 03 125sx. In my haste, I didn't put either the SX or EXC piston on my gram scale to see the weight difference. SX is SINGLE ring. EXC is DUAL ring. I was hoping for more seal for a longer time but may have given up the "snappiness" of the motor. If any one has info and can pass it on would be appreciated. I'd rather not pull the jug back off. Both are Vertex pistons(stock KTM) BTW...

When I have recovered from sorting this out my plans are to get new front pipe (fatty, gnarly or SXS??Dizzy

) then start looking for other wheels.

If you still want different frame guards you might want to search for the carbon fiber ones. They are pretty hard to find but they are nice. As you can see in the picture the frame guard also covers the shock.
There are a lot of nice carbon fiber sxs parts available for this model.

I think MotoXShop has these frame guards in stock, you might get them for a good price since they are pretty hard to sell these days. Don't know if they ship internationally though.

This bike is not mine anymore

Looks good. I like the seat cover and grips and the plastic looks great of course.

Did you have to get the pipe welded where it goes from fat to skinny?
Was the braided clutch cable routed at one time on the outside of the cylinder head brace?

Vanilla - did find the frame guards on ProCarbon website but just dont have any left to spend on bike just now, hopefully the guards will last a few weeks till I can get them - like my carbon goodies Cool

Markit - thought I had enough enough cash to do everything I wanted but had a couple of unexpected bills hit Evil Have been working on getting stuff ready for a while (seat cover was bought in October lol), the weather here has been really crap lately so have had time BUT I do not have a workshop so have to wait on dry weather to get busy, have been off work this week which has helped to get this finsihed.

Sandberm - seatcover was a cheap deal I got on Ebay USA including shipping, searched for gripper cover and this came up and am happy with it BUT had to buy electric staple gun to fit it, grips get problem in right hand due to old injury so asked in shop for something that would help so they gave me progrip 803 (me thinks). Exhaust came like that when I got bike last year but it is welded (not pretty but it works). No idea of cable routing as I just went with how it was when taking to bits.

I had both a Doma/SXS pipe and a HGS pipe on my old 200. The HGS looked kind of odd, but worked great, but the Doma was awesome!

SOOOOO RAD!!!! I have a 200SX I am working on now as well! Is there a specific colored orange paint you used for the frame? I have been wanting to tear my bike down to paint the frame but I am worried about the orange matching the Plastics.
