20 odd point back of Tim. G
I'm going with Vg92 to win the title this year
.
Would be a monster of a effort if jordi tixier goes back to back being 40odd points back.

Who you got!

Obviously I'm pulling for Jonass, but I don't think he's ready yet. Gajser or Guillod will be champ.

It's going to be a very interesting run for the rest of the year. Anstie could potentially go on a run and close up the 65 points he's down on Gajser. Who knows.

I'd like to see Gajser win it, but would be happy if Guillod took it also.

Imagine if Jeremy Seewer won it? He's in the thick of the points from sheer consistency

I am going with Tim Gasjer. He's pretty much been the best of the rest so far and with Herlings out i expect him to continuing doing that. Guillod has had some incredibile good GP's though and he's not far behind Gajser in points.
Anstie is not consistent enough i'd say, but he still has some good GP's comming up so who knows he could get close.

Take Herlings out and you have Gajser with 377.

Then...

Guillod -25 (from Gajser)
Jonass -26
Seewer -32
Tixier - 43
Anstie -65

I guess gajser or guillod will do it
but I'm hoping for tixier just to show a big middle finger to KTM for kicking him out after he won the title

My guess is that seewer and anstie are about to gain alot of ground the next couple races, but in the end it will most likely be gajser.

My head is saying Guillod or Gajser, I would give the nod to Guillod becuase he has been more consistent

But my gut is going with Anstie. He has at least 5 motos with 0 points, yet he is in the thick of things and he is doing well right now, which is the time to shine..

Anstie could be a real threat with the next 3 rounds in the sand...

+ 1.

50% probability for Anstie if he keep it on 2 wheels. Plus he knows Glen Helen.

Here's our top 10 (without Herlings) after race 1

Tim Gajser 377
Valentin Guillod 374
Pauls Jonass 369
Jeremy Seewer 355
Jordi Tixier 354
Max Anstie 337
Julien Lieber 292
Alexandr Tonkov 256
Benoit Paturel 218
Brian Bogers 214

Closest championship of the year.

I'd be pretty impressed if tixier can pull it off after being suspended for the round. Mind you, most of these guys have had at least a bad round or two.

I think it's Guillod's to lose, but I would be happy to see Gajser take the championship. Hasn't he been attending school until recently? Hopefully that means he will have more time to dedicate to his MX career now.

yeahh ... but he has to do better as today ... expected more from Tixier , but its 5 gp's to go and in this season anything is possible

agree , Guillod 's teammanager has promised him a BMW M4 as bonus if he wins the title .he got the steeringwheel , all he needs is to take the rest of that car ...lol ...would be a nice end of his MX2 career , go out with title and move up ... Gajser is gonna be a serious contender next year for sure

That's pretty cool! I have an older Beemer and the steering wheel is worn. I've looked into some of the nicer replacements and that is no cheap steering wheel!! Laughing

I said before the season stared that Tim would be a real threat, I'm sticking with him.

Guillod is on it but I don't see it

I'm thinking Gajser will end up winning it. I really like him and Guillod though so I don't care much. My favorite would be Antsie, but there's pretty much no chance of that happening after today.

if Tixier had not been banned from the round after Thailand he could be in the championship lead now,
29 points is not a lot tho in 5 rounds, its going to be a great chase to the title, 6 guys within 30 points, I think Anstie is too many points down to be a factor, not to sure who to pick really, it will come down to Glen Helen for sure

If Jordi doesn't clinch the title at the end, he will regret this punch in Thaïland for the rest of his days.

It would have been a long shot, but after today, I'd say there's almost no chance. Real bummer since he was killing it lately. That was a nasty get off. Seems like it's been forever since he was here in the US racing. He must be at least 22 by now?

would love to see anstie get it! going to be very interesting the rest of the season

After this weekend he is 62 points down, so yeah he is indeed out of it. It is a shame though, without the crash he would have been max 42 points down (finishing 3rd), and if he won it he would have been 35 points down i think.

If he is uninjured from the crash then i expect Anstie to be the fastest guy in Lommel, Italy and the Netherlands (if it is a sandtrack). Good results at those events could easily collect him 20-25 points on the contenders resulting in him being down ~10 points with only 2 races to go. If only he hadn't crashed at last race... 62 points is simply to much.

Without Anstie a contender imo Guillod and Gasjer have looked the fastest the last bunch of GPs. So normally i would say it will be between the 2 of them. Tixier has been slower and not really raced for the wins lateley, but he can win in the sand (as he did in Lommel last year), so maybe he is back in it again. I dont see Jonass win it, good rider but not (yet) a winner imo.

Tixier becomes mentally unstable, brought on by heat exhaustion, strips down to his underwear and assaults a track worker. How awesome is that?

He is easily hands-down my favorite GP rider, and I hope he wins the damned thing.

Tixier looks like he is riding conservative and not hanging it out.
Trying to be consistent.
