I just wanted to share this amazing project with all of the two stroke fans out there. We just finished this factory level 2 stroke build after a year and a half of R&D, testing, changes, etc. The end result is amazing and we ended up with a 53hp rocketship that weighs 15 lbs less than the AMA minimum weight limit for that class! 201 lbs, ready to ride with an empty tank. We used a Varner Motorsports modified KTM 250 sx powerplant in a 2011 Honda 450 frame with production based Showa suspension including a SFF Showa fork, modified, valved and set up by MB1 Suspension. The entire engine cradle and billet engine mounts are hand fabricated and machined to accommodate the KTM powerplant. Racetech Titanium was instrumental in helping bring the weight down with all of their titanium fasteners, axles, brake piston and pivot hardware. The bike also utilizes many one-off titanium or alloy parts and heavily modified OEM parts as well. DLC coatings were utilized in many critical areas including the shock shaft, brake hardware and pins, brake pistons, select transmission parts, titanium linkage pivot bushings, and swingarm pivot bolt to name a few. It took over 500 hours of trial and error, testing, changes, extensive mods and many hours of scratching our heads to get it perfect but I feel this is the most refined 2 stroke conversion build anyone has ever done.

Awesome! Simply awesome

That is an amazing machine no doubt, the workmanship is second to none. However, I guess I'm an orange bleeder because I wonder why everyone thinks aluminum frames are the way to go. Listen to guys who test bikes for a living, and some very well known pros who have said they prefer the forgiving nature of a steel frame. Still, that bike is beautiful!

That is Niiiiiiicee!!!!!!

10/27/2012 3:29 PM

Very nicely done! Bravo!!

Holy crap!!! That is just amazing, close to insane? Pretty damn impressive that there are people willing to put time and money in something as retarded as a motocross bike. I mean I dig it, TOTALLY but some peoples focus, and passion doesn't correlate at all with common sense. There's no way that bike going end up in any situation worth the trouble other than in a hands of a wealthy person who decided to share our passion.

So damn cool, and retarded at the same time. Me like!

53 hp, and 201 lbs! The effect/weight ratio is pretty unbeatable!

I've recently been associated w/ 2013 "Non-A/F" 400 & 500 2T development...seems that many of the true ol'school-types got NO Love for Al Frames...even World Champ-types...

But, that's All I can say for now.

magnificent work!

Probably one of the most trick two-stroke bikes I have ever seen. Including factory bikes!

Did you guys consider anodizing the frame and swingarm black? I think that would look pretty sick, but that's just my opinion. Black or aluminum, it really does not matter. That bike is amazing.

We wanted to keep a more "OEM" looking without it being too flashy.

Yes its all hand pounded aluminum. It took the sheetmetal guy 19 hrs to make. He does things with aliminum I thought were impossible.
