There was a guy that would show up riding his street legal xr600 to the Lakewood national track and procede to whip up on about everyone there. He would even put his turn signal on when passing guys. Lmao!

I moto'd my xr 600 back in 97, competed in the 4 stroke class against Huskies and KTM LC 4s. I could ride that MSR (Mother Ship Racing) XR as quick in the woods as any of my buds on their smokers. But you never want the wheels to leave the ground...and even back in that year we had jumps and whoops.
I left the Mother Ship in the garage when moto came back up on my calendar.

Badass beyond badassery. Dakar dudes posses so much talent, it's unreal.

Only sort of kind of related, but damn I sure do wish we could have seen what Kurt Caselli could have done in the world of Dakar.

One of the local pros raced a BMW touring bike at Glen Helen SRA races back in the early 2000s when they were new. Those are like 500 pounds

Very cool!

I got arm pump just watching that.

Just an observation... that track was really smooth & fast. Not many (if any) whoops, ruts, etc...
I'm sure it' good cross training though for the Dakar

Wonder if he was watching "Moto 6 The Movie" on his dashboard TV?

Yes, he's leaving Monday night. He and Robby should be running up front for sure!
