So I currently have a 2010 F250 Harley Davidson 6.4L (lifted, wheels, exhaust, programmer). I really like the new raptor and thinking about trading. I'm just a little concerned the raptor won't cut the day to day needs of having a truck. I have an 8.5 x 20 enclosed that I like to take to the races but would downsize to a 7x16 if need be.

Not a fan of the new body style. They kinda remind me of a 4 door el camino

With those options, keep what you have.

I recently traded a 2014 Raptor (6.2L) for a 2016 F250 diesel. We tow a Grey Wolf 26RR toy hauler and the Raptor towed it with no issues (right at 6,800 pounds loaded). I've towed with the Raptor though the mountains to get to the Tennessee Outdoor National...and I've towed for 6+ hours on the highway to get to Daytona for Bike Week. The reason I traded was because our camping trips increased in frequency...and I wanted a rig that was more geared towards towing. We also want to upgrade to a 5th wheel in the next few years. I miss the handling of the Raptor...but love the power of the diesel. I also enjoy the 6.5' bed on the F250 vs. the 5.5' bed on the Raptor. They both are great trucks...and should easily handle the trailer(s) you mention.

'17 Raptor crew. Sell it to a cool-guy like MWM for $75K next spring & go order a new one. Repeat every 12 mo's. This is based on you being smart enough to order it from some "Regular Joe" dealership that won't screw you/you being smart enough to know how to buy a new truck.

Did you have to do anything to stabilize the raptor when towing? I heard they sag bad, did you and air bags? The bed space is definitely gonna be missed.

Yes...I used a weight distributing hitch with the Raptor. I also use it with the F250. Honestly, the F250 drops more than the Raptor did (which surprised me). I'm going to put the F350 blocks in the rear of the F250 to help out with the squat. I will still run the weight distributing hitch, however.

I've had my 17 Raptor since 12/12 and like my 12 Raptor it pulls my 16' fairly heavy trailer like it's not there and the new one will just run away from my modded 12. They've got an unbelievable resale value and you just don't see many of them which is pretty cool too. You can't go wrong with the Raptor. My trailer weight 6500lbs and my truck drops maybe 1/4" when I put on the hitch.

If you're not towing anything heavy (a 8x20 enclosed with dirtbikes in it is still well within what a Raptor would handle), I would go Raptor, no question. It isn't going to tow quite like your diesel, but I'd rather driver a Raptor daily than a Superduty.

I love the Ecoboost Raptors, and I've also driven a Roush supercharged 6.2 Raptor. I would own one if I had a garage to fit them in. I don't want them to die due to Michigan winters.

Edit: worth mentioning, the stock '17 runs the quarter mile in something like 14.1 seconds. It really hauls ass, and the anti-lag/baja mode is just awesome.

Keep your current rig and use the money saved to take a vacation. Or buy a new bike

Great looking truck. You're making it hard not to order one, plus the 10-12 week wait. I really like the fact I won't lose any cabin room moving moving to the raptor. Are those 35's on a 20" inch wheel.

I would buy a new bike but need to get rid of '16 FE first. Plus I'm most likely out for this next coming season so I will most likely wait until the '18s are out. Figured the truck will give me something to mess with until I finish healing.

I can't believe how much trucks are going for these days! Seems like they doubled in price in the last decade. I would love to have a raptor but my cheap ass could never part with that much dough.

How do you like the Ridge Grapplers? Thinking of putting those on my Tundra next. Torn between those and the Toyo AT II's. Currently have Terra Grappler G2s.

The extra leg room in the crew cab is well worth the $1900 difference in the price. I'm telling you that you can't go wrong with the Raptor because it's an amazing truck and because of the resale value them. I got 39K trade in on my 12 towards the 17. Try that Timmy Tundra :-) and Yes I love the Tundra too. The wheels are 20" SOTA SSDs with 35X12.5 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. They come with beadlock rings and I've got them out being powder coated gunmetal gray to match all the trim pieces on the truck. I had Vital member Shane 699 ceramic coat the paint, trim ad wheels this weekend and the shine is just amazing.

Crew cab is a no brainer. Are those grapplers noisy? I went with the Toyo R/Ts when I changed the tires this go around and what a difference over the M/Ts I traditionally run. does the '17 raptor handle similar to the older model. My local dealer has a Gen 1 on their lot that I may go test drive to see if I like it. I assume the raptors will have a lot of body roll over my SD due to the suspension travel.
