Damn what was that race called where they play the Rose Bowl. Pasadena? Emig was on a Yami w/ an american flag paint scheme right? I could be wrong though.

It's from the Rose Bowl race at the end of the 1999 season. I think they called it the World Supercross Championship or something like that. It was Travis Pastrana's professional debut. He was wearing Fox gear for the last time before switching to No Fear.

I don't think Emig was actually at this race. Pretty sure he came back for the US Open in '99 after being fired from Kawasaki. He was riding a '00 YZ250 on his new team, Edge Yamaha. He had Shift gear and a Fox Pilot helmet with an American flag paint scheme. He killed everyone that night.

Everything was right, except that Emig was infact riding (but didn't set the place on fire).

I was too busy getting drunk those years and missed some seasons. So how did Travis Pastrana do that night being his first race???

I believe Emig was one of the fastest riders, but crashed at some point during the main. He was to make his comeback that next SX/MX season, but thats when he had his back injury and retired Sad

Dude, he won. It was a good race. He mixed it up with Tallon Vohland, Fonseca and Pingree for a bit, but he ran away with it in the end.

It was also Larry Ward's first race with Factory Kawi and he ran second.

I wore out this tape when I was younger!

haha apparently my memory is crappy! I guess winning is decent.
Maybe it was the US Open where Pastrana did lackluster?

What I remember most about this race is they used a picture of it for the SX program. In the picture he is doing that goofy thing where he brought his right leg far back toward the side number plate. Everyone was doing that move for awhile, they even had the video games doing it! I believe it was Superfly where the riders would throw their leg back in the air.

As a side note, that was Foxs best year for clothes, every colorway that year was sick.
