Has anybody seen this on IG? @moto_technology. Apparently it's a teen who broke his ankle and started to design his own boots that are different than options available today. Anybody have any info or even heard of this?

Checked the instagram, nothing there but a few crappy drawings of what looks like a Fox boot with no logo. He also hasn't mentioned any details about this "new technology" that no-one but himself has come up with yet. Sounds like a load of bs to me.

If it is real it seems like it could be a pretty cool idea. We'll have to wait and see, but I gave them a follow.

Don't mean to sound like a dick but I'm struggling to find the "idea" here.

No, you have a valid point. I was just saying if the "idea" is real, assuming that we are talking about a safer mx boot, then it could be pretty cool. Only time will tell if it's bs or not though.

Im basing this all off the 6th picture (the one of the colored boot). I'm guessing it has something to do with the hinge (or what looks like a hinge) located just above the high ankle. The blue colored area around the back of the ankle/ achilles area seems to be more rigid or even rigid? That would be a change from current designs where that are is typically more flexible. Then again like you said above, fox already has this in their current boot. This may be why he has delayed showing it as his patent that he filed may already overlap with one of fox's existing patents. This is just my best guess.

Nike boots were the safest. Too bad they didn't make them. They had an aluminum hinge that locked forward and backwards to prevent hyper extension like a kneebrace.

I've seen this kid spamming all the pro riders pages. He has a YouTube video as well. It consist of music, sub titles & the pics from his IG. I think it's just a joke. They are trying to get a following, get people talking about it on Vital & sit back & laugh. I think the OP is one of them too. Just my 2 cents Dizzy

You're right. You caught me. Even though I'm not a new user with 1 post.

I checked out the IG account an I dont see how you could come up with a design, send them out to get made, test them "under the table" in just a few months. And I assume they don't have thousands of dollars invested in this "new technology."

It's all true fellas, his IG account doesn't include the prototype model as the patent is actually still pending, therefore he does not want the risk of copycats in the big industry. I'm prepared to show you all a little preview of the boots themselves but you must swear not to share this on the interweb...

Maybe a little self-deprecating humor to illustrate his grass-roots effort?

I am wondering what boot he was using when he broke his ankle/leg? These companies (Fox, Sidi, Alpinestar, and Gaerne) spend millions of dollars making the best boot out there for a fairly reasonable price. It would surprise me if this is a real company and if so would be almost impossible to enter this market.
