It'll probably be 10-20x higher price than their SX naming rights.

Infield SX races early in the season before the race starts? Bonus points for cars that wreck and end up launching a triple?

Seriously though the Monster title may not be out of left field. Coca-Cola was in talks with NASCAR over the summer about taking the series sponsorship so it makes some sense. There are still roughly a dozen companies that were pitched that are entertaining the title slot.

NASCAR is apparently looking for a 10 billion over 10 year commitment.

It's more like they wanted 1 billion over 10 years. They won't get that. Especially with the slumping ratings and attendance.

Nextel started at $75 Million a year for 10 years ($750 Mil), that includes all promotion material/signage and advertising associated with promoting NASCAR. When Sprint bought Nextel they took over the contract and renegotiated a 3 year extension at $50 Million per year. I'd expect atleast $50 Million per year for a 5 year term or they might split the naming rights up between the regular season and Chase.

Coca-Cola owns about 16% of Monster. Monster also uses Coca-Cola's distribution and bottling facilities. I believe Rockstar and Pepsi have a similar deal. I always get a chuckle when people say the sport (mx) needs to find major companies as sponsors. It doesn't get much bigger than Coca-Cola.

This could be the catalyst NASCAR needs to attract the younger generations they so desperately want as the racing demographic gets older and viewership declines.

Think it's more of the cost to make and what they sell them for.
Cost 30 cents sell for what three bucks? that's quite the profit margin

Good job to MX Sports for getting Roczen to Phoenix Nascar race. Any promotion of motocross to that crowd is a win win.

Now if Kenny could get a test drive ? Think of what that would do for Nascar and MX fans and Nascar for Euro fans ? Get a top European cross over athlete ?

Or they may not continue as SX sponsor if a majority part of their sponsorship dollars budget would be in Nascar.

I thought I heard that, but I could only find the last extension that ends this year.

One other interesting thing I found though was this Forbes article that said Fox pays Feld $4 million a year to broadcast Supercross. And Monster was paying $4 million per year from 2012-16.

Going by industry standards, 'cost to produce' of red bull/monster should be around 5 to 8% of total price. Should be around .10 for can, .10 drink and packing/shipment .25$ out?

The Forbes article was interesting! The video too,
2014 was on set to the the best year since they started in 2008

The 2016 press conference announced the ratings grew 6% from 2014 to 2015

I wonder how the 2016 season did
