Has anyone ran them? I have heard a few good things and I also saw somewhere someone mentioned they snap easily?

Just wanted some more input before I buy one, I love the bars and have always ran RK or DID. Thought about trying something new.

They recently switched suppliers after some initial issues and I can tell you that at this point you would be hard pressed to find a better chain on the market. I put a new O-ring on my 450 about 5 rides ago and have yet to adjust it.

Uh, aren't you involved with Mika Metals? Owner, brother, cousin?

Brother, but not involved in the Mika stuff. The old chains were not up to par, the new ones are as good as they come.

I use the Mika sprockets, DT1 filters, and cheap tear offs. So far been very happy with it all. Smile just recognized the location and not sure who's involved in what.

Awesome, thank you for running all our products. You will have to head down one of these days and ride at our new track in Tulare, DT1 MX Park.

Installed Mika Chain & sprockets on my RMZ450 2 weeks ago.. 1 race and 5 practice days later and I haven't needed to adjust it yet. I was a loyal RK guy and I still believe in the Top of the line RK.. but my motor guy hooked me up with these and I've been impressed.

Buddy had one.

Snapped in three rides. Took out his cases. I would stay away regardless. DID's aren't broken, they've worked great for years. Stick with quality.

I was merely using an example. I made the best chain claim based on who is manufacturing them now and their history.

So who is manufacturing them? I assume a reputable company that's been in the MX chain business?

I guess the next logical question is were the suspect chains pulled from stock and replaced with the new manufactured chains?

Yes, all the old chains were tossed. It was a case of getting good samples and then not having the same consistency on their production runs. The new manufacturer has been in business for a very long time and is well known for their high quality chains, not sure if I'm able to say any more about it than that.

My 415 (50 chain) was wasted in 5 rides... unfortunately it wasted a rear sprocket right along with it. (front was steel)

Not wanting to sound like a jackass but if you have seen or heard of some of these chains failing why would you even risk it ? wanting to try something new that if it fails could cost you a set of engine cases is kind of a unnecessary gamble isn't it. They had to change suppliers tells you something right there that that don't use the best chain available. Your money and your bike, but why take a chance?

Use all there stuff exclusively and never had a real problem with the older chains. But the new ones are of much better quality looks, feel and durability. Great bunch of guys all about moto.

The reason I ask is because if 2 people's chains broke it could of been their maintanence or something so was curious. But if it seems to be an on going problem then your right I'll stick with what I know.. Getting support from them for 2 years now so I was interested in their chains.

I've been running one for about five months or so. Chain and sprockets. I've had no issues at all, but then I'm a slow vet.

Well, I don't know about their chains, but I ordered a set [1] of handle bars from them last Friday, and they showed up today... But here's the weird part, I only ordered 1 handlebar, but they sent me 2! Looks like maybe a slight error on 1 of the bars because it's about 1/2in total shorter than the other one [Both are the same model]. Pretty cool that they still sent it to me, as I won't notice that much of a difference, so I can still use them.

In 35+ years of racing I have never broken a chain but I have always used RK,DID,or other top shelf chain. I would take the stock chain off and replace it when the bike was new and you would be surprised how long stock sprockets will last with a quality chain and when they did wear out I replace chain and both sprockets. Mika might be a great chain but they admitted having and selling some bad ones so you never know.

What's up with that? I'd be interested in trying Mika products but stuff like this makes me wonder where it's made and why their tolerances would vary like that on the same part.

Mika has completely redesigned their new chains using a manufacturer that has been in the chain business for 80+ years. I can assure you that it's currently the best chain on the US market. The bushings in these chains are unique and proprietary to the chain manufacturer. We had issues with our first manufacturer who we gave a chance to improve and create a better product. They never were able to produce a product that was consistent and as good as the pre-production samples therefore a change was needed. We had Brett Metcalfe down this weekend for a ride day and as soon as I handed him a few chains and let him know who we worked with to create these; he made the comment, that's the only way to go. We are so certain that it's the best chain you will ever use that we have a money back guarantee on them. We always strive to bring the best racing products to the market. There have been times that production products were not as good as pre-production products. When this happens we make the necessary changes as quickly as possible. At this time and after a lot of testing, I feel confident that all our products are top notch. We have been around the MX racing industry for a long time and know that to go racing at the highest level you need the best products available.

BULLSHIT !!! You get the shit chains redesigned after a bunch of failures, and now its better than RK, DID or renthal. That's a pretty tall claim that the new resigned chain "it's currently the best chain on the US market" where do you come up with this shit and just putting bad chains out there the first time shows you guys don't have a clue "but the news ones are better" Your sales pitch needs work shamwow

We've tested RK, Renthal, DID, Tsubaki extensively. If you think we just put products out without testing and more testing your foolish. I can tell you from all the testing that Renthal and RK are sub par to the other brands. If you would like I'll send you one, if you don't like it you may continue your pointless rant. Smile

Just say you have a quality product without all the bogus claims. The bottom line is that sub standard chains made it into circulation ( By you own admission) and the quality control was not there. You will be know by your reputation and that will determine if you you will be around five years from now or go the way of so many others who's claims could not match the product. If its a great chain that is fantastic but to put them above the high quality of RK and DID or other brands just makes you sound shady.

The chains did make it into circulation and we did have issues that we fixed, lesson learned. We manufacture a lot of different products and from samples to pre-production items to production items there are lots of variables. The company who initially manufactured our first chains is the same manufacturer that makes them for RK. To think RK or any other chain brand is so great without knowing who manufactures for who probably isn't the smartest statement you've made. Regardless I understand that we are a new company when it comes to chains and have to earn our reputation. Even though the Mika line is new we have been in the MX market since the 80's with different products and brand names that have been very successful and continue to be successful. We manufacturer a lot of products in house for a lot of big name brands. To call me shady is about as correct as me calling you a clown for making the statements you've made, which would actually seem reasonable at this point. Smile I understand the skepticism because it's a new brand, but that doesn't mean were new to creating great products.Give us a try and I can assure you that you will have a different opinion about our products.
