What an awesome ride for him, he was also very humble and professional in his interview's. I didn't have him on the radar to be honest, but I'm pulling for him now to pull off the championship. He's a good dude.

Beyond stoked for Shane!! Another local North Carolina boy making it happen!! Been watching Shane since he was on a 65cc at the local races. Good ole Carolina boy raised on God and guns in the Appalachian mountains of Asheville NC. So awesome to see local talent like Shane, Cooper, Osborne, Tickle and others to make it happen on the biggest stage in the sport!

I was so pumped for Shane. I know I'm personally and he deserved that so much (Not saying others didn't). He's had some tough injuries and I'm hoping that he can keep it up.

The sad part in the way ama rules are honestly if he wins the championship its not a great thing for him bc what team would sign him in the 450's the money his making now. Really this is the first year doing this well. He had a couple good races in 2015 but not this level. The ama should allow these guys to defend their championship. Im sure he dreams of winning a championship but lets be honest if you talking about making a living it would be smart winning some races this year and not winning the championship and signing a big 250 contract. Thats why we need a change in rules. Love McElrath just want to see him around our sport for yrs to come

If McElrath wins the title, does he point out of the 250 class?

The rules need to change. No age or pointing out for 250s.

Yes, the rule is if you win a championship and been in the class 3 years you have to move up.

Finally got to rewatch the entire race tonight. I'm on the bandwagon! Super solid..good starter, good shape and head on his shoulders. His speed hasn't been a problem either, last year or at A1. I reallly like what he had to say on the pulp show and think he's already a serious threat.

As far as the bump up to premier class rule, I think they had it right a few years back. Give these guys a chance to defend their title for god sake. This way they can run the #1 plate and make a little money before they're forced to move into a class full of champs often times on inferior equipment.
