Fox, Shift, Answer and Thor everywhere. What happened to Oxbow and Wulf?

I have no idea what happened to any of these brands, but i loved seeing Tortelli ride his Oxbow stuff in the 90s!

Do wolf sport make any top end gear? I used to get it because it was cheap but these days I'd rather pay more to be safer. I can't see any of the top guys risking a concussion by wearing a cheap helmet when they can probably get the same money or more to wear a top of the line Fox helmet or whatever, same goes for boots.

Im not knocking wolfsport at all, for the price they cost, the quality was spot on, they just don't make high end helmets, boots etc.

Wulf still exist - not sure about Oxbow with MX / Dirt, but geeze, both had a bit of 'prominence' decades ago. Things have moved on, quite a few times since then.

Yeh wulf sport it stil going. Not sure if I can imagine any of the gp riders wearing it now a days. They probably wouldn't sell much off the back of it as it's not the prettiest of gear.

Here's my signed set of DV's Oxbow gear. 15 years old, and still looks cool.

Thank gawd they don't wear all that trash anymore. (I did like the oxbow stuff tho) Makes it a lot easier to watch. The "euro" gear and stiff goofy ass riding styles made it hard to watch back in the day. Things have come a long way, and I'm glad.

Moose Racing is also in MXGP... and Fly. Not many Euro brands out there.

I never understood why those Euro brands had such ugly gear. You would think design and colours are one of the lowest cost parts of production.

What happened to Pro Grip and Sinisalo? They were better than Oxbow, Wulf and the like but haven't seen anyone wearing it in a while.

Looks like Sinisalo is still in the game.. Haven't seen their stuff in years, so not sure what happened to their business model / distribution network. I also had no idea they are based out of Finland. Perhaps one of our resident Finnish members can elaborate

He won the '98 LA Supercross in Oxbow. Nobody in the crowd knew who won. Laughing

I think Scott is as American as it gets. Gearne is European, right? Hallman originated in Europe, but probably considered American as Thor?

Gaerne, AXO, UFO, Alpinestars, Acerbis, Airoh, Suomy, Just1, TCX, KYT are all Italian.
Shot is French.
FXR is U.S I think.
Scott originates in the states but 51,5% of the shares is owned by a Swiss. Thor is a US brand founded by a Swede.

Yeah but I think at some stage, he used to have Pro Grip gear as well. Now it looks like they only do goggles, and grips.

I think I saw one of the guys in Acerbis gear which really isn't an off brand but not something we see everyday. TM rider had some interesting gear as well.

Bernardini is using Circuit gear. I believe it's italian.
The guy with Acerbis you're talking about is probably Julien Lieber

He hasn't worn Pro Grip goggles for quite a few years, he went to Spy for a year...maybe two, then started running his own goggle called Neox.

KYT's main building is in Italian, but I believe everything is made in Taiwan and I think the owner is of Asian descent.
