Yes please post the raw footage! The music of the 2 stroke is way better.

good for you AJ, you come out with some great bikes, but this video shows how disconnected MXA is from what people want. the fact that they put music with it is just horrible. gay music at that, but even if it was 'really great music', lets learn how to turn the volume down on the music through our video editor and bring up the sound of the footage.

the bike looks sick AJ, hopefully another mag with more of an understanding of what people would like to see and hear will test your bike and leave in some sound.

I saw the bike on Thiursday at GH. It sure is a work of art. That being said what makes it better than an 02-07 CR250?

I was thinking I accindetly activated some other music on my computer, or that there was som error in vid/browser because I was so certain they would use this opportunity and drain the engine sound like crazy.

Very odd. Stupidety? Or some evil minded joker? Or did Mr Honda give them a call?

You would think that people would have learned by now.

Better engine. Looks like they had a 01 in there. There's no way a 09+ chassis handles better than the 02-07.

The 01 motor has like 1 more HP down low...

its a cool bike but an over-rated swap IMO

It's not even about raw power, the 01 has a much broader powerband. The 02 is like riding a very powerful 125.

The main thing would be current new model availability.

The second would be the great handling in the newer chassis

Third would be the 2012 weighs less, new look/asthetics, etc.

The 2012 chassis does handle better than an 07 *shrugs*

Obviously since we assemble the engines from all new parts,
and i can use any year engine, I feel the 2001 CR250 engine (with a Keihin Carb) is better all around than the 02 -07 engine.

AJ, can you reload the vid without the music so we can hear the sweet two stroke.? You should have brought your whole line up of AF's.. The 500 AF's would have been awsome to watch at that track.!

Bring out the CR500AF and the KX500AF.!! Put that rider on the CR500AF. Then load that vid.

I do not understand. You had the perfect oppertunity to show case more than just the CR250AF. Why would you not want to bring all four AF's with you? (250-500) I am pulling my hair out thinking about this... Please load vids of the 500AF's...

i had a 2001 and thought it was a great bike, but it still felt weak compared to any of the YZ-clones out there

Sweet bike, that's the bike I'd buy if there was any left after bills and saving needs were handled. Sure, my 08 450 may be a little easier to go fast on and the fun factor is hard to beat on my son's 125. But that 01 motor works so well everywhere, track, woods and to have that solid 2012 platform to reside in....I'm sure it's competitve, fun and versatile. One of the things I miss the most about those 250's.

I saw this video on MXA's website yesterday and I just couldn't believe what I was watching. I skipped around hoping that the music would stop, but it never did.

WTF? A 2 smoke vid with no BRAAP for the first 3:35 or so? And then, there was so little that that it was almost like why even bother. Blasphemy I say! Someone at MXA should be fired, or at the very least taken to the woodshed. Even luscious Louella would have known better than that! Talk about a missed opportunity. I believe Jody must not have taken his meds or something.

That bike is sick. According to Varner, his mods gave to 2004 CR 250 5 more hp.

Those 2005 to 2007 engines when modded correctly are VERY FAST

Well, if I would have won the lotto last night, I would have been making a call to Service Honda for a 250 and the 500. Back to collecting cans on the side of the road and selling myself to old women at the nursing home. I'll get me one someday...

Now I have to to Glen Helen tomorrow and check it out
