MX vs ATV Untamed Online Play

What is the freaking deal with this? I've been trying to play for over 45 mins now with no luck. I've tried logging in/out, power on/off, no luck. Spent the last 20+mins in a room with around 8 guys and it still will not start.

While I'm in a bitching mood. Sometimes when it does start, I'll have a guy sitting right on top of me so we both crash as soon as the gate starts, or when my gate drops the other guys are already half a lap ahead. A few times the gate has dropped and the hay bales have already been moved back on to the track so I have to dodge those.

Problem one, you're on a PS3, and their online is nowhere near as stable as XBox. As they say, you get what you pay for.

Too bad your computer can still connect.

I share all your same problems. Was roostin' it up with guyb a little last night. Good times. Reflex is the only reason I bought a PS3 so I hope they get the bugs worked out soon!!

Working good now, earlier today it was working fine as well. Sometimes though it is just buggy.

Will look for you. Looking forward to brake checking guybmoto as well. Will probably have to get both of you in the first turn, because after that I'm a backmarker.

I experience all the same issues with XBox Live. I've reset routers, modems, shut off all the computers in the house. Still I get issues with the online play. Seems like half the time It can't even find the server to connect to.

Connections issues aside. The interface for playing online sucks ass. They've taken a huge step backwards in this version. It's the worst "live" experience I've ever had in a game.

Their sales figures (which is all that really matters) will probably say different, but its a typical rainbow failure. I'm hoping they'll stick around with this one and fix the shit out of it, but even then, all it will ever be a retarded looking rider farting around a average looking track.

I really wish they'd get away from the goofy loading area for online play and just go back to a lobby system like most other games. I'd actually like to be able to pick my own track, laps, and see who's in the room. I have no idea why they went away from it in Untamed and Reflex but I really don't like it at all... I haven't had the connection problems the last few days thankfully. It's a fun game and I do enjoy playing it, but honestly as far as interface and online play goes MCM1 and 2 were better games.

I play with a bunch of folks online, from new racers to old school and everyone of them including me thinks that the game is awesome. The terrain deformation is absolutely amazing when you get real MXers on there that know how to find lines and run them consistently. The online play has been great the races have been staying full and going off with out a hitch for me. Watching the track develop, the game play and rider reflex make up for the very few flaws this game has. The nationals are a thing of beauty, upgrade from that 19 inch TV your momma gave you and you would see that. When you jump out of the stadium, the sound is perfect the way it echoes off the walls, there's one Nat that the powder dust looks so real I find myself wanting to ride with my mouth closed. You are either a dumbass or a troll or both.

The public online sucks ass. Create a race and invite your friends, this gives you more control - laps etc, you're not racing with morons that run into you, and you decide when to start the match.

Promed I added you to the friends list, if you accept I will invite you to the matches. We have some really good races.

i agree with both sides...the game is a beauty to play but i witnessed the problems of getting a game to start too...

sometimes you just sit there and wait...its crazy! but if you are in a game of 12 and everybody stays in it goes pretty good

x2 I thought untamed's online interface sucked but rainbow managed to one up themselves in that department and go from sucky to shitty!

I don't know what's up. I try and play online last night and it wouldn't even let me connect with the reflex server. Said not available. Then I get an invite to join a private room and voila for some reason it can find it now and lets me into their game.


Something is very messed up with this game's online play.

i played a lot this weekend with varied results on xbox. sometimes we would wait maybe 3 minutes and the next race was starting... others it would be about 20 and never start so we would join a different session and an hour later finally race against like 3 guys.

definitely took a step back in the online department. untamed wasn't great, but i would take it's online setup over this one any day.

why you can't pick laps and tracks in public match is beyond me. sometimes you will play the same track 2 or 3 times in a row... gay.

My biggest complaint is the track deterioration on Sandwick and Sugar Creek. No track should get that chopped out that quickly ever. I got to play with guyb yesturday and had some good battles. Also the online play can be buggy, but it seems like if I turn the system off for an hour and walk away its good to go when I get back..

HOLY SHIT was I having a hell of a time yesterday........ couldn't join a game if my life depended on it and if I did I got a shitty start and was landed on for the whole fucking race.

I'm really starting to hate this game........... even though it's awsome, I just can't stand the retards that just clean you out in every corner.
