Thanks to everyone who submitted applications and voted!
MCR is pleased to announce Colton Aeck, #526, was selected as the scholarship recipient. "I'm pleased with the level of interest and support the scholarship program generated. Our team looks forward to working with Colton for the remainder of the West Coast Supercross season and supporting his effort and helping him grow," said MCR team owner Mike Genova. "Colton will have our full support as he begins working with the team this week and will make his debut as an official MCR rider at this weekend's race in Anaheim."
Aeck will receive a 250cc racing bike, a 250cc practice bike, salary plus race-based performance bonus, paid expenses, training and support, sponsor benefits package and a race mechanic for the remaining 2014 250 West Coast Supercross season.
In addition, if Aeck is able to finish in the top ten overall in the West Coast series, he will be granted a full 2014 MCR motocross contract.
The scholarship was granted based on the most fan votes received on MotoConcepts website, the winning rider's overall performance at the first two West Coast races and overall character.
Aeck joins pro riders Mike Alessi and Kyle Cunningham on the MCR team.

Thanks to Mike, his Team, Company & most notably...
His enthusiasm.
He took 16th at Phoenix....looks like a good call on MCR's part!
He was the only guy I voted for!
The Shop
So it wasn't all based on fan vote. I can only imagine this being a dream come true for Colton.
They keep a rider on the payroll who, in my opinion, is not respected and has a bad reputation in the pits. (lasers, etc)
On the flip side they do something really cool to help a three digit guy get to the races.
I dont really understand it.
They love to go racing...
It was a pleasure to work alongside Colton as a full privateer and watch him as a rookie make it into the main event in Phoenix. I'm positive he'll make the most of the MCR ride.
I'm really curious to see how far he can move up from 21st with this support. This is sort of a case study in how much a full ride can actually help someone. It will be interesting. Definitely going to be following his results.
Im wondering if it will take time to adjust to a new bike?
Even its a kick a$$ bike ..
Kind of a short series to try to adjust to somethin
different .
That MCR bike is a honda right ?
Still cool thing to do and I will definetly root for him
!
Pit Row
Wonder why MCR waited till two races in to pull the trigger? why didnt they have this in the off season so that he could get the new ride dialed in. "Top Ten" It's like they set him up for failure?
Ride your ass off Colton Aeck show them it can be done.
It's cool though glad company's are helping 3 digit guys in one way or another.
Noticed he didnt have any lap times (DNF) so maybe something happened to his bike or if he's OK?

Was following him since he got the new ride to see how he was going to fare
Bummed to see him go down, he got up after a little while, but it looked like he might have been knocked out.
