Live broadcast and nobody is happy. You guys are killing me!!!!! They could have Weigant in your living room and it wouldn't be good enough.

On another note.....it is not MavTV. They have HD, but DirecTV doesn't offer the channel in HD.

They do broadcast in HD. Your provider just does allow you access to it.

Yeah, & Mavtv wants 3 times more money from Dish... , I don't like it either...

YOU DO know who owns Mavtv don't you?

If you don't it's Lucas Oil

DISH does not offer it anymore and DirecTV does not offer it in HD. Good decision MXSports.
I guess it's more important to try and build a friendship with the owner of Lucas Oil.

I found out about the the MavTV/Dish deal here on Vital. When I confirmed this saturday morning, I went to charter(with whom I already have internet with) about 11am switched back over, saving $55 a month, they are buying out my contract with dish, and the biggest suprise of all was they were here at 1:30 hooking it back up. So I was still able to watch the race. I told the woman at dish when I was cancelling this morning, it seems to me you should have been working on this BEFORE the end of your contract with MavTV not after. Also I was paying an extra $4 a month to have MavTV with them, and I still lost it. Oh well it worked out better for me, saving some money, and I have more channels now.

It is brutal to watch it on DirecTV. The quality is so bad. Mav TV has a link on there website to contact Direc TV about getting them to provide in HD.

It amazes me in this day and age that everything is not in HD. I just don't get it.

Boys, I say we pool our money, charter some jets and buses, and hit the races personally.

What do you all say about that. Maybe Davey could set us charter people up with some special VIP viewing area.

Are you listening DC.

Here in AZ Cox doesn't even offer Mav Tv. I would be totally down for the pay per view package like what MXGP does.

I just come on here and follow the race threads. Then I watch the race in whatever clarity it comes across in. But I don't expect much in my old age.

That's the link to Directv to request MAVTV in HD. Let's light them up with requests! I sent in that I can't watch the Lucas Oil Motocross series in HD by the so-called, "leader in sports", but I can watch someone bake muffins in HD on the Food Network. Shit' I'll even pay a little more if I had to.

They're all missing the boat on this. The future is wireless internet pay per view, no "TV" provider involved. They keep this shit up and they'll be as relevant as MTV....

We go through this discussion every year it's been on Mav TV.

Hello Mr. *******,

Thank you for taking the time to share your suggestions regarding the programming options currently available on DIRECTV. I am glad to hear you have such a passion for DIRECTV and want to make it even better for yourself as well as all customers.

Although we do not carry MavTV in HD right now, and we don’t currently have plans to add it to our lineup, your feedback is important to us as we often make changes based on our viewers' comments. Most often the reasons are related to the available satellite capacity as standard definition requires less bandwidth than high definition. As satellite capacity increases, we review our programming lineup for enhancements and channel additions.

Please be aware, any proposed channel additions to our current lineup are subject to change until a formal announcement is made. For the latest information on channel additions, please visit our website at www.directv.com/pr.

Again, thank you for the valuable feedback you provided; we can’t improve if we don’t receive feedback like yours!

Sincerely,

Jamie

I wish DC would chime in to answer two questions:

1 - Were there ANY other options to broadcast the race? If so why did he choose a channel that very few people have access to?

2 - What are the rating numbers prior to the move and after the move? And is there a backup plan for when/if MavTV goes under? The way they're playing right now, they're not going to be around much longer.

I thought I heard somewhere else that there was no interest from any of the other broadcasts, but I couldn't tell whether that was to say that there were literally 0 options, or if one option was a little more financially burdening than the other. It's getting tiring to have to jump through hoops to watch moto.

I did get the opportunity to see the first 450 moto on promotocross.com and I actually enjoyed that broadcast. I was able to get an HDMI from my computer to the TV and it was a GREAT picture.

My complaint is that you can't tell who you're watching. It's shot in hd so you can't blame the film crew.

yeah, it's absolutely miserable. You can't even tell who anyone is during the holeshot. I sent and email to Directv but they have no "current plans" to get it in HD. :-/
