Flame away about how they do or don't work, but watch the replay in slo-mo and tell me his brace didn't save him!

Good thing he had a helmet on too. Might have left a mark otherwise.

After watching that replay n slow mo it makes me wonder why they r not required equipment. I'm sure Davalos was happy he made the choice

Because some if not many of the top pros believe that it causes injuries. Would make it pretty hard to be required when so many don't believe in it.

I am curious of the IQ levels of the top pros, and I am serious. Seems like a no brainer....so your statement makes perfect sense.

I don't see how anyone could argue against them.

I don't like wearing one.

Well Chad Reed was one of the first guys against it if I am correct. I believe Chad Reed's is a pretty smart man.

Chad`s best friend died while wearing one, if I remember correctly.

I could see where they could cause further injury or save your life. It's 50/50,no fall is alike. I personally don't wear one and am on the fence about them.

I believe some riders have died while wearing helmets....guess that should be a choice too.

I think people need to realize that neck braces cannot prevent a neck injury in every possible scenario. Just like knee braces won't save your ACL in every possible scenario. The idea is to mitigate the risk. That said, i wear a Leatt because I like the extra level of protection. My riding buddy refuses to wear one and won't even try mine on. To each their own.

How can it cause further injury in your professional opinion?

Neck brace = personal choice. We believe in them. The real question here should be after Davalos clearly hit his head and was dingy how was he able to ride?

Tested mine that I won on 13 days of Christmas a few years back. I think it saved me. Not sure but everyone agreed who saw it.

I personally know of one 16 year old kid who is now paralyzed. He was wearing a neck brace. His back was severely broken right where the neck brace ended. Coincidence?

I also know an ex-AMA pro #1 holder who is now paralyzed...and he feels the same way that I do. The neck brace might be on the right track, but it's not there yet.

As much as Marteen crashes he should wear as much protection as he can get.
