Line choice

Why in the world did people keep choosing that outside line after the finish?! I saw Bogle passed there twice and Osborne kept taking that line which lost him the spot to Roczen and kept making him lose time on Ken in the end of the moto as he was trying to get it back. It was so much slower and guys just kept taking it! Why?

I saw Cooper Webb make incredible use of that outside over and over again. I'm sure the inside was a nasty rut. Guys were just trying to not play follow the leader and hope for a mistake by the guy in the deep rut.
