Its been a long time since I made a post, but I feel that this could be a worthy post. I've been riding Motocross for 30 years no and being 34 years old with a family I'm forutnate enough to get to work for an OEM and ride a few times a week on some the best bikes in the world. I choose to race when I can and I acccomplished more racing as a privateer then I ever thought I would.

Growing up in San Diego county I didn't have that many friends that raced or even rode moto. They all surfed or skated, but there was one friend of mine that has always wanted to race, but never had the financial stability to make it happen. Our sport is great but as a child your family has to fund it and as you get older that dream might fade. That dream never faded for my buddy Trevor Hudson. He accomplished a "Life LONG GOAL" in 2014 by purchasing his 1st bike and racing his first race in less then 4 months. His first race was the DUBYA Vet World Championships,

I had Trevor share his story with me and posted it up on my Coffee web site. Yes I said Coffee site, it's a little hobby of mine and Trevor reminded me of some feelings that I think a lot of us take for granted...

And he improved in his second moto.

Main Line is great stuff, keep it up Sleeter!

Great post! It's very easy after years and years of involvement with Moto to get jaded and take it for granted. Great to see a new guy perspective and be reminded of why we got involved in this awesome sport!

Good read. I know from where he comes. I was 56 years old when I finally rode that race for the first time. Glenn Helen is a big old track that does intimidate you for good reason as the track feels different each lap.
It's great to see another rider have his dream come true too.

Brilliant write - up.
I presume your buddy isn't a budding writer so I thank him for what he did get down but I would love something even more in depth.

I'm racing this Sunday for my first time since being a kid. Maybe I should do a write up...

Absolutely awesome! It can be an intimidating sport...but fun as hell when done right (I'm assuming hell will be fun). I raced there that day too. If I knew Trevor's story beforehand he definitely would've had another fan cheering him on! Cheers to your future motocross career Trevor...and Sleetdawg you were hauling the mail that day, great race to the both of you. Thanks for the fun-to-read post!

My first race was not so peachy, arm pump, good 5 laps of roost and feeling like my heart was going to explode @13 years old.

Good for him!

Great story. Hits close to home.

My first race was in 2010 when I was 27.
