Yup, that looks like an '89. Pretty sweet bike.

How'd he finish?
I think he was last or real close to it. I wanted to go talk to him after the race, but it didn't work out.

Yep....either 88' or 89'....thinking it's an 89' as well. Cool seeing kids out there having fun on an affordable bike. And as long as he's having fun....it was worth every penny.

At least he was out there having fun today, I layed around like a swine and wasted the whole damned thing. I gotta get back after it next spring, life's running out.

Had one of those. Bought it brand new in 89. Thought it was awesome at the time. Sure looks dated now.

I had one of those (89) with a full pro circuit motor and exhaust system. But I preferred the 88 model myself.

I had an 89 back in the day. I loved that bike and if I could find one that was decent, I would buy it again and restore it. I have pics of it somewhere, I would love to dig them out.

The 89 cr 250 had upside down forks for the first time. The 89 cr125 had conventional forks.

Yup. And the 125 forks were loads better than those first USDs on the 250.

That's nice to see, thanks for sharing. That bike has great lines, it doesn't look at all out of place even today.
