I am contemplating riding at Elsinore tomorrow, but I am well aware of the track's tendency to get dry and crusty and hard packed from the clay lake bottom dirt. Has anyone ridden there recently that can let me know if the track is fun, or if its still the usual LE dry ness? Thanks!

Everything I've seen recently still looks dry, crusty and hard packed.

Thanks for all the responses. I rode Elsinore back before it closed, and I guess I was hopeful that the recent-ish re opening would make it better. But I guess you can't fix slippery/hard packed lake bottom clay

I disagree with the negative comments. I ride there during the week and most of the time it is good. Fact is it's different. IMHO you'll enjoy it. You'll usually find top pros out there as well.

The dirt can be rather crappy but to be honest, I've had fun every time I've ridden there.

Elsinore was a blast back in my early NFG days to hit some pretty damn big jumps with rock hard take offs that never got chewed up.

I had a ridiculous amount of fun the last 4-5 times I rode the main track there. Underrated, in my opinion. Haven't been there in months, but I definitely had a lot of fun riding there. To each their own.

Rode the vets track when we were over a month or so ago, I enjoyed it, was a bit rough but that's how a MX track should be.

It's in our regular rotation. Yeah it dries out and gets rough but the layout on the main and amateur tracks are fun and it's got a great mini/pitbike track. Definitely worth the $25 and the drive.

As others have stated, Elsinore is a known quantity: The prep will never be as good as other SoCal tracks with better dirt, but there's no membership and the crowds are typically pretty light. Plus, the main track flows well and there are intermediate/vet track options for less experienced riders.

Definitely worth a visit if you haven't been in a while!

Use fresh tires. When they water it can be a skating rink.
