This has always been my favorite tack from the nationals.....big jumps, perfect dirt, grass start, the widowmaker. To bad it has a flooding problem.

Very cool! Brings back lots of great memories.......But I have a few questions. Why do most of the bikes seem like 1999's thru 2004's. Why do I see Mullets? And why does my buddy Mike Blair have two pierced nipples?BlinkTongue

I'll answer NO more of your probing queries (hey, that sounded a mite gayish...) UNTIL you introduce to me some

more of your Hollywood starlets. Starting with Scarlet Johannsson ! Dammit.

Longtime D-11 Motocross racer Mark Roop has passed away, he was a Kenworthy's regular, very fast vet and damn decent

human being, I put these pics up in his honor - and memory. He would dig it. RIP Mark.

My person favorite is the picture of little joe dirt, I suppose that was after his parents left him at the grand canyon? Classic ohio motocross..... and yes I did have a mullet as well. Kenworthy's will always have a sweet spot in my memories, as it was the first place I ever raced. Sorry to hear about Mark Roop, he will be missed.

Great show as always Rupert.

Is Henry Gref still racing?

He is an interesting guy with some great stories. I would buy his autobiography in a skippy minute.

Kenworthy's looks fun to ride, but compared to other national tracks it wasn't the most spectator friendly place.

Why didn't they stay open for AM events?

Good times had at that place.
You should go up there now and take pics.
Love to see what it looks like now.
(edit) just google mapped it - can barely tell that it was even there.

Bryan - 2002-2004 pics....No, TROY is no longer. Farm fields at flood plain she is now.

And please let me know where/when you'll be filming, love to check it out. I'll behave and dress accordingly.

And I would like to cameo. Hella good at cameo I am.

Bruised tail bone on Mr. Boner. That's all I know about that. It was a Kenworthy's related incident, I believe...

Saw Henry a coup e years back at our local prac-track, unsure what he's up to currently.

If I recall, they did have a few AM events after closing, nowhere near the 400-800 riders that

generally attended their amateur events....

Kenworthy's was a former stop om the AMA National trail - TROY, OHIO was the locale, near Dayton.

The facility wasn't that well liked by riders and teams and was rumored to be closing the entire twenty years

I attended the place....After a few floods, the place went back to flood plain and farmland... I think it was

Colorado that bought out the "date" on the calendar...

All the locals loved the place, legendary parties, fun track, well prepped and attended, yet very "Supercrossey"

with virtually no elevation... Last round was 04 or 05 I think

Rup, condolences for your loss. I didn't know Mr. Roop, but he probably would have wanted someone to re-post these two pictures of the lovely Ms. Little for emphasis:

Great Post Ruper- talk about rehashing the good ol days!!! So many great riders/friends from D-11 that appear:
Zach Ames, Richie Robinson Sr, Mike Morgan, Chucky Reed, Willy B, Scott Metz, Nathan Skaggs, Derek Sturgell, Steve Andrich, the Whitcraft Brothers, the late Mark Roop, Charlie Dunaway, Steve Richards, Dallas Avery, Kevin Hildebrand, Matt Powers, Gonzer, Mike Blair, Dan and Jeff Gibson, Mr Henry Gref, Walker Brightwall, Brenner Washel, D-Hill .... just to name a few. I think the 176 might have popped up in a couple too Smile

How about that for number/name memorization!

Some day you'll have to put all your Kenworthys picks on a cd and send to me- hell, I might even pay you to do it since I know you have a ton and it would be pretty time consuming!

RIP Mark Roop. Great rider to see at about every single D11 race for so long.

Henry was in the shop not long ago and said he was heading back to Europe next year for 6 months of racing.

Got burnt out of racing and quit in '06 or '07 and started playing school sports.

Post a reply to: Kenworthy's.
