Team BTO Sports rider Justin Brayton will miss the next few rounds of the 2015 Supercross season due to injuries sustained during the third round this past weekend held at Anaheim Stadium. He will be out due to a grade three AC separation to his shoulder and three fractures to his T-5,6 and 7 vertebra in his back. The extent of the injuries will not require surgery and his timeline for a return to the Supecross series is aimed to be around the mid-point of the season.

“Our team had a very rough Anaheim 2” said team owner Forrest Butler.” Though injuries are always a bummer, they are a part of racing and I am just very thankful that Justin’s injuries are not worse. We are enjoying working with Justin this year, and we can’t wait to get back at it with him once he is healed up.”

The team will not be fielding a fill-in rider, as Justin is scheduled to be back on the bike in just a few weeks. Team BTO Sports will be full steam ahead with team rider Andrew Short in Oakland this weekend and looks to keep the momentum going strong while Justin heals up.

That's all more serious than the "collarbone-only" stuff that I was hearing early on. Glad to hear it's not worse, though.

It said that at first. Injury suck but I'm glad Justin will be okay. He seem to always get injured during SX. He's capable of great speed, shown it more than once in the past. Come back strong.

Wait a second... this guy fractured his spine and he wants to come back at the MID POINT of the season !?

I know JB is a badass but Jesus. That timeline seems rather ... aggressive.

^^^^ I was just about to say the same thing. Never mind the grade 3 shoulder separation.
I've done all the above. Not recommended.
I'm hoping he heals up 100%.

I have not seen his crash so have to ask: Was Brayton's upper body protection only a jersey or was he wearing any type of upper body protection?

Grade 3 AC seperation is no fuking joke! That shits hurts more then a fibula coming out your shin! I know, had both. My right shoulder sits 2 inches lower then left from grade 3 AC sep.

Wow, what a downturn from last fall when I saw Brayton interview headlines that said, "This is the year I'm going to have success" to starting the season terribly to now a pretty crappy injury.

As usual, I hope he heals fully before returning to racing.

I also have a grade 3 and yeah, it absolutely sucks balls. Even if you get surgery, you will never regain full strength once the capsule is ruptured. Shoulder grinds and pops all the time now and I can only do about 5 pushups with it. Worst injury ever.

yep, the surgery only fixes appearance to make even with other shoulder, but strength isn't any better then letting heal alone. I have no stability in right shoulder, can't do bench press, but can do inclined bench press. Pushups, no problem.

That crash was scary, glad he won't need surgery. Shame though, he was looking pretty damn good last year on the Yami.

Yep, I did mine years ago (7ish) and it still hurts every now and then.... I can't imagine him being on the bike in 'a few weeks'...
