Was watching the press conference just now and one of the 'media' asked James the question "We saw Josh Hill jump 5 in the rhythm section during practice this morning, will you do it also or maybe even jump 6?"

Would love to see some footage of that

Next up in the "Stuff that does not matter" category is...

I'm guessing it looks like a quad, but a little bit longer. Smile

Or has a table top in it, which some consider two jumps.

Or maybe it's 2 tables and a single?

Always can count on GuyB for on the point sarcasm Smile
Sorry. I was also just picturing the argument on whether it would actually be a quad, quint, or whatever. I still say the guys who are doing these jumps can call them whatever they want.

Yeah, just saw that RV vid. I thought that in the track map it showed that 2nd table as being a half-and-half one like they had after the dragon's back a few weeks ago in St. Louis (I think)? Where they would backside the 'half-table' and then quad into the corner

Thanks for posting that.

Sometimes I wish they'd have a triple right next to these huge rhythm jumps so you could have a direct comparison to how far & high they jump these combos

Clean. But what really blows me away is how fast he is in the turn after....which is really where all of this quad/quint stuff comes from.

That is a lot of time in the air. Pretty forgiving for a big jump...because if you come up short...you just land flat. Cake for those guys...unlike truly casing. Even though it saves a jump...all that air time may not be faster. This is racing. There are no deducts for doing jumps. The stopwatches will come out Sat...and that will determine what they do. I would bet that most, if not all of the field could do that jump...

It's too bad those tables weren't camelbacks. Could have been the first "sept."

Back in the early 2000's, they had that Four Stroke Nationals series....not sure if you remember. When they ran it here at Thunder Valley, they would allow us toads to be on the track during practice with the guys who were in that series. I forced myself to jump in behind one of the guys and follow him at his speed through a turn. It was the turn that Stewart was entering last season on that downhill where he fell because he was distracted by that guy crossing the track. That guy hit the turn so fast that it bottomed the suspension on my bike (it was a stock YZ426F). Without him, I would've never thought to enter a turn that fast. And, I'm sure I haven't done it since...lol.

I love how he always brings up that he jumped the quad first and now this jump.... Seems like he should be more worried about trying to run up front. there are no trophies for who ever jumps something first

Doesn't Pastrana make a ton of money for jumping?

Are you in the top 20 in your job in the United States? No? Hill is. Maybe you should work harder instead of posting on a motorcycle board telling others to work harder.....lol....
