For anyone who has been keeping up with Button's Miles for Miracles cross country ride to raise money for spinal cord injury research, he is back on the bike and soon to cross into Louisiana. I've had the pleasure of hosting him and the crew for the last week and a half after Jimmy crashed and broke his elbow last week. Let me be the first to say that Button is one bad dude and the effort and commitment he is putting into this is pretty damned amazing. He's still not 100% from his crash at San Diego eleven years ago and to be back on the bike just one week after surgery to plate and screw his elbow back together speaks volumes about who he is. Since he now has additional issues to deal with, I made a phone call this morning to see if I couldn't get them a little assistance to blow through a few red lights to get him through Beaumont and over the Neches River bridge on IH10 without him having to stop and unclip for every red light through town. They got more than a little help! Here they are stopping in at my business along the way before heading on to Lake Charles. Pretty cool escort for some old dirt bike rider......
For those of you who haven't made at least a small donation, shame on you. Do it now.
