Some will moan at another Js7 thread but this is the first we have heard from the horses mouth.

Another Successful year for the JSSC @freestonemx ride day. Special day for me having my son out at the compound along with all the champions including my @sevenmx_ amateur riders. Every year it continues to grow which is amazing considering what's going on in the pro ranks but it's great because that means the next generation of youth riders are strong. As for me it's been a struggle with putting things together for next year with so many sponsors pulling out of MX and a deep pool of great riders and lack of rides. That being said I've been working on trying to make things happen because I'm not ready to retire. I still have wins in my future so hopefully I'll be on the gate soon. If that's in the next 6 weeks that'll be great but whenever it is, I'll be looking for to being with the people I love and that you guys. Real talk outta everything, wins, money, fame traveling. The one thing that keeps me going is my fans because otherwise after this year and the offseason struggles, I would be done!! But I'm not so just wanna thank you for keeping the candle lit. So thank you guys for the love, I definitely see it!!! Also everyone of my sponsors that have and still continue to support me, a big thank you to all of you. I could kick JS7 ass, and I am fat, old, and haven't moto-ed since my yz125 seized in 77 .... stamp it!!!

but for real: I hated JS7 when he was winning, now I really miss #7 on the line god dammit, am I bad?

(hope he is on the gate A1 and shows his magic!!)

He could start training right now and still be top 10 by A1.

If his head is strong and his hearts in it you can't count him out.

Unfortunately his entire 2016 was a disaster due to a concussion.

If he doesn't line up at A1 then that means 2018SX? He doesn't have a solid track record of coming back for just outdoors. Either way, I think the abusive relationship comment nailed it.

No his entire 2015 season was a self imposed disaster and he never recovered from it.

2016 reasons for failure

1. Most stacked field ever.
2. Guys wanting it 1000x more than him
3. NOT being in great shape from the start
4. Getting lapped
5. Several dnf

Time is precious he did not recover and prepare with a whole year away from the grind. We could have easily been here saying what a great run he is on since his return but unfortunately we are not.

I don't like the if talk if he has his head on if he wants it Now he needs to show what it is to be a legend to be the guy who can run with the bulls and not get trampled by them.

We all know he came into 2016 unfit. Even so he can be a contender. At A1, he set third fastest lap in practice. Finished 3rd in his heat. Was running 3rd in the main when he was taken out.
I'm not expecting James of old to show up and race. However I think James can still run with the pack if he just has his head in the right place. I don't think it would take much for him physically to run top 5.
That's my opinion.
