I consider it to be in the top 6 or 7 of all websites in the continental United States...

You are obviously a well-bred gentleman of refined taste.

Compared to other sports the bars set real low for MX websites. Vital wins the award of worth checking out on a daily basis. I can't say that about any other site. Other than the Pulp show I go weeks in between checking RX, MXA, TW, etc.

I met my fiance here and technically one of my best friends here (he saw my bike check then saw the bike at the track), so it holds a special place in my heart. For bench racing, there's not even a second place. There's forums that are more dedicated to fixing your bike, but I don't really come here for that. I come for the insider news and the meltdowns and the bears.

Yep, I think we can be blamed for one (upcoming) wedding. Not sure how many divorces. Wink

For a world wide forum covering all aspects of moto, yup.

Pitracer covers a more localized area of oh, pa, in, mi areas but is extremely informative for local riding/racing.

I consider it the Wikipedia of MX, thus the avatar Laughing
And I mean that in the best way possible, I spend way to much time on this site, just ask my wife Whistling

There is no need to visit another mx site , if it's on another site ,it will be here also. I also really enjoy the race discussion threads every week.

When we first got into moto (2004) Someone in one of the mags made a mention of this place that was like THE place to go. Guyb did you once work at transworld around that time? Either way I think was mototalk, then it went to motodrive, then it became vital. Guyb was you the moderator at the other places as well? I kept getting pointed in the next direction by someone and I want to say it was you??

But yes it is the place I go several times a day. Thanks Guyb!

What others compare? I guess I should put it this way.. Vital is to Loretta's as pitracer is to Loretta's regionals. Most of the rest would be lorettas area qualifiers.

Got it.

This is the first one I've heard of/tried. I usually get news and stuff on RacerX.

First day here. Just curious.

HAHA! Laughing Post of the week!

"the meltdowns and the bears..."' What would this place be with those two things?

But yeah, like others have said above - this is the #1 place I go to for moto news and coverage. I have even ventured to that strange and mythical "homepage" I keep hearing about.......

It's the first thing I look at in the morning and last thing before I go to bed... And WAY too much time in between... Sad I know!

I even hear there is a mysterious place called the "home page" although I have no clue where it is or what mystical things are held in this secret location, maybe rainbows, gum drops, and unicorns with unlimited original skittles and snicker bars??? WoohooWoohooWoohooTongueTongueTongue

ssia?

Since Vital generally requires the opposite of txt speak, this place remains inviting to people who aren't morans.

I'm a moran too, so a forum that has some big words can help make my brain smart. The thinking hurt at first, but eventually I learned how to read a sentence.

Now it only hurts when I have to decipher random letters, but I'm a nitpicky 35 year old guy.

Seriously, bravo on somehow making the Internet into something intelligible. Even while choosing quality over quantity, the site has a massive following.

Vurb and Vital are my favorites, though I liked Vurb a little more when they were covering the amateur scene more than the pros.
