I though the 2012 KX250F used the same chassis and plastics as the previous years, while the 450 got a new frame and therefore plastics upgrade?

So the new 450 plastics fit the 250F?

They look the same to me except the extra holes on the bottom of the shrouds

Corona, Calif. – Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki apologized to its fans following Round 1 of the AMA Supercross 2012. In a release of January 9, 2012 Pro Circuit noted that during these troubling financial times the Motosports industry has been especially hard hit. A knowledgeable but unidentified spokesman observed, “Given the current economic conditions and scheduling between motos and practice session there was simply inadequate to change anything other than the numbers and the little 250/450 stickers on the bike shared by Broc Tickle and Tyla Rattray. We sincerely apologize for any confusion this may have caused the fans.” In related developments, it is noted that many of the teams are seeking longer breaks between motos and practice sessions. This move is spearheaded by Pro Circuit and Joe Gibbs Racing. Joe Gibbs Racing experienced similar confusion at the Anaheim event when the compressed time schedule failed to allow for proper labeling of last year’s tires used by James Stewart with the Pirelli logo. Looks like it's a 450 seat-(heard that), airbox, side panels and I'd guess the sub frame.
Anyone know when the actual 2013 is released? Need to get that bike! Lol!

i remember reading that it was this same rule that doesn't allow the carbon fiber subframes and airboxes combos that we see in most mxgp bikes......
i would like to see some closer pics because the airboot on the 2012 kx250f has an extra injector on it and i wonder what they are doing with this. my only assumption is that they are having moto-tassinari modify the 450 boot to attach this extra injector.
other than that it looks like a simple mod of detaching a 450 rear end and bolting to a 250f with a couple of mounting adjustments. which should be legal by ama standards i would assume because it is still a production part, and not a works style unit like the carbon ones used in the GPs
