What is THE MOST participated in MOTORSPORT in America ?

Is it MOTOCROSS ? Never have received a definitive answer to this one, even asked the AMA a few years back...

If it is NOT motocross, I'm guessing it is drag racing.

I am asking about PARTICIPATION - not spectating..... to be clear...

I suspect off road (MX, Hare Scrambles,etc.) may have the most participation. But I don't know if MX by itself would hold that position.

no scientific data to back it up but there are thousands of fri/sat nite roundy round "stock car" tracks all over the country that run junkyard rigs to winged sprints...........spent most of my life in moto and then a good 10 years in auto racing and I was totally blown away by the numbers............you ever been to Eldora Rupert??? go check out one of their big dirt late models races, it's like world mini times 10, like a whole week and thousand of people............

I would say so. You can't just go out and car race any time you want. You have to wait for that dirt track Friday night or whatever. For anything MX related, you can load up and go to the trails or local track just about anytime you want to.

And I have no idea why it quoted your post. When I clicked preview it wasn't quoted. Weird.
