I don't understand why they would be against it? I'm sure that MX sports isn't that positive when there are 2 GPs at their soil but they have nothing to do with this.

I hope they can solve it. If not at least find another track in US to host the des nations. It's time to have a MXdN in US again.

The real question is AMA or AMA Pro racing that is owned by DMG and leased to MxSports?

I think the Charlotte round might infringe on some Supercross agreements that prohibit certain number of Seats in a Grandstand type of enviroment. That would be AMA and Feld at issue.

Would the night race in a "stadium environment" at Charlotte be an issue? Isn't it only the name Supercross that would be an issue? The manufacturers cup race in Schalke, Germany is called SMX(supermotocross) because youthstream can't use the name "supercross".

I'm no expert in these promotion things, i'm not claiming that. But i would speculate that like you say MX sports would be the only one not liking it? Why would the actual AMA dislike it? Wouldn't it be great for them to win the title on home soil?

I think its dumb... run the GP on proper track, lose all the 'making the track from nothing' expense ...

If it doesnt happen , i will not be even slightly surprised

I don't know the ins n outs but maybe too much politics involved. One or all of these governing bodies need to pull their head outta there asses (rectal cranial inversion) and keep the damn MXON at Glen Helen.

I doubt MX sports has any problem with it. If anything, I'm sure Davey is happy to have GPs in America again. He is a fan nonetheless.

Meh.... CA doesn't seem to care about the GPs so I I don't think turnout for MXdN would be record-breaking. Have it somewhere central to eastern US and the turnout will be way bigger IMO.

I think the turnout would/will be good anywhere in the USA. I'll be there wherever it is, just hopin for GH for my own greedy purposes... No travel!

From my SoCal sources today I was told the MXoN is still on at Glen Helen.

That article was hardly a story. It was just a couple of sentences quoted from a promoter with no other information or even confirmation of what was said.

I'll be at the MXoN next year no matter what track it's at.

Not the best though. Not to mention almost all the riders hate Glen Helen.

There are better places to hold it, for both riders and spectators.

GH is too small a venue for a proper MXdN.

I only know bits and pieces , I have no idea on how long any of the deals are, I highly doubt MXSports is going anywhere soon.

My biggest guess on GH MXdN is the exorbitant fee's are the hold up.

This has nothing to do with MX Sports, not sure why we were brought into it. In my personal opinion Glen Helen has earned the 2017 MXoN with those money-losing GP races they have already held. Southern California is the hub of the motocross world and should get a chance to host the MXoN, and Glen Helen has already held up their end of the deal by hosting those GPs. They deserve a good crowd for all of the losses they've already taken, just like Budds Creek in 2007.

And Jay 500guy is correct, we aren't going anywhere soon, except for Loretta Lynn's... Wait, I am already here!

MXA has said some strong words towards FIM and the MXGP organisers, and who runs Glen Helen (please correct me if I am wrong)? I doubt that's the reason but hey....some people hold grudges in this industry

Maggiora is tiny compared to Glen Helen , so is Ernee. What is your logic for this ?

I guess we all have to sit back and wait. I am still going to enjoy Octoberfest in Germany and then the MXoN whether they settle it or not.

Glen Helen would be the biggest venue to host the MXdN for a good number of years. Ernee, Kegums, Teutschenthal and Lommel are all really small in comparison. I think the track will be really good for the nations as well, they normally put a lot of work in when getting a track ready to host that event. I hope they get it.

I don't think MX Sports is going anywhere either. I was just curious. I always forget DMG is even involved.

What everyone seems to be missing here is that the 2017 MXDN at Glen Helen is in jeopardy...

Surely along with that the chances of the 2017 MXdN being in the US at all are in jeopardy. Unless you can see anyone else stepping in to host the event over there if it falls through at GH?
