Iron Man MX - Trees too close

Edited Date/Time 8/17/2014 6:42am
is it just me or are there more than a few trees a little to close to the action at Iron Man Mx. Even if the stack hay bales, I think that they are going to have to reconsider having them so near the track

Are you going by the track map video or the actual track pictures? From what i have seen they dont seem like much of a problem.

This is based on what. Photos? Helmet cam?

Nearly every single helmet cam video I've ever done, there's been a comment that, "The track looks too narrow."

For every modern track, figure there's the width of the racing surface itself, and probably room for a mule to go by on each side.

From pictures, this is about as close as i have seen:

Trees are almost everywhere around the tracks, but the one at Webb's video at 1:41 looks maybe close, especially when we all know how far off the track rider lands if he goes down, but we're OFF ROAD riders, we don't have safety zones like MOTOGP.

Shade provides better dirt conditions. Thats why most of the tracks suck they mow down the trees for better tv viewing, losers.

The contrast of red bud, budds, millville, and Indiana to muddy creek has me embarrassed for my home track.

Yeah it's fucked, seriously why they're trying to hold a national there who knows.

Yeah, It's motocross and it's not safe, but a few trees should be taken down there in the high speed sections. Saw a kid at Rio Bravo clip a tree back in the mid 80's. Killed him. That's the basis of my opinion.

The 2x4 sawmill lumber used to hold banners driven in the racing surface .All those other tracks leave a lane from track edge to banners about kawi mule wide. The worst was on the downhill a out of turn one. But,this is a common thing for them to do,I alway hated the July kawi race because banners would be everywhere on spindley stakes that broke off leaving spears sticking out of the ground.

I agree the track surface was awsome but there is no reason to pull those stakes right up to the outside lines. The reason it is so narrow in places is the pipes that go under for spectators , They would need to find old tanks of the same diameter to remedy that situation.,never happen. The track used to be twice as long but the pro pit took all that in. Wish theywoulda used the big field side for the pits,it is level and needed no work, the existing pits is on fill dirt 20 to 3o feet deep.
