Don't know if it's been posted but it was interesting to read. I do not want to start another gp vs nationals because theres enough of those already.

Wow, sounds like a legit story to me.
I think this will hit 10 pages of Alessi bashing when USA wakes up this morning

He got out safe and finished both motos. That was all I was hoping for. I hope/expect for slightly better results this weekend. I just wish he could race his bike without too much pressure or bullshit. Do work Mike.

I don't think Mike's set up was perfect, but to say it was costing him 3-6 seconds a lap is ridiculous. He's obviously not the rider he once was, and he doesn't have the equipment he once had. I thought he may be able to top 10 on a track like Matterley still, but it's clear that he is nowhere near the level he was 3-4 years ago. Tony is only fooling himself by not acknowledging that

I need a shock that gives me 6sec a lap. And who is this Jonathan who apparently has the ability to become a fly on the wall?

I believe he`s a member here.

as has been mentioned before on here, complaining about his bike is not a valid point when he's battling with lewis Gregory, a privateer on a near stock yz250....

I expected mike to do better than he did- maybe in the 10th-15th range at that track. WIll he do better this weekend? not so sure, I think matterly would be a better track for him

I think the alessis made a huge mistake staying in America for the prime part of his career- mikes never been particularly good at supercross, of all the top American riders from the last 15 years I would say he would have been the best suited to doing gps, an outdoor only series. Im sure when he was winning races in the ama he could have got a decent contract to race gps.

All I saw was that he was penalized ten spots in timed qualifying. What's that about? Does Mike try to bend the rules so much that he gets punished at every race he enters?

He wasn't the only one. 4 guys got docked 10 spots in qualifying for jumping on waved yellows. Mike was one of them.

Going by what name? That article was disrespectful at best. Anyway, let's see how Mike and the team rebound. Certainly better to have him at the GPs. Hope he continues.

He didn't even lose ten places, he was already one of the slowest and jumped under waved yellows trying to get a time in at the end before the session was red flagged.
And I'm not a hater, think it's awesome he came and gave it a shot, we cheered him on all weekend, I thought he would be around tenth.

Of course he was one of them, he always is. Don't get me wrong, I was a fan of his up until probably the Tickle incident, mainly because his Dad is a tool and I felt bad for him. But he has to own his on track decisions himself and of those there have been far too many.

Why does everyone make excuses for riders especially the Alessi's? At what point does one just accept not everyone can be a champion, they are past their prime, the elusive championship isn't going to happen, you're no longer a top guy, it isn't the bike, it isn't the team. As good as Mike is, he is simply never going to be a top guy again unless he starts racing locally.

Tony's ongoing antics over the years have earned any disrespect sent his way. Sadly, Mike is always in the blast zone for what hits Tony.

Plus, reporting the truth is not disrespect.

I think Tony Alessi is damned near the perfect example of the "Ugly American" - and he's played it out in his own country for many years.

Looks like he did a bit of that in Britain - it will be interesting to see if he does it in France. The Alessis have been to Europe quite a while ago, and, reportedly, left a few non admirer's then, many of them very influential ones. I hope it doesn't happen with this trip.

Of course, Jeff did the Italian GP at Maggiora - I think Mikes results in Britain were ahead of that?

Let's see what happens this weekend. The Alessi antics have left me cold so many times, but, nonetheless, I wish Mike luck. He's up against it, and, I think, well past the time he could have done much in the GPs.

What a horribly written article, basking in the joy of Alessi's difficulties. The 'writer' sounds as giddy as a pre-pubescent girl at a Justin Bieber concert

But at least we now know what the problem was with Mikey. He should have that shock issue worked out for this weekend and be right up there.

Mikes biggest mistake was taking Tony with him to the gps. Has Mike ever done a series without having Tony at the races?
