A longer head pipe does something to the TQ delivery, which is why Honda rerouted their head pipe for a few years to smooth out the power and make it broader, until of course everyone blamed it for being "slow" and they put it back for 15.

I'm guessing that KX pipe is intended to lengthen the pipe without it sticking out like a curb feeler in a way borrowed from Yamaha...

I'd say you're right.

And we'll soon know how it works by reading MXA...
Maybe with that exhaust you don't need to add a tooth to your rear sprocket any more...

the exhaust path needs to be a certain length to create needed conditions at the exhaust port. Routing it the long way around saves for high rear weight and allows for the muffler to not stick out so far

HAH!!!!! I don't think it will do much for the "stinkbug" feel though.

I agree. I would assume they calculated any engine mods to determine the tuned length necessary to build that pipe and have it mounted in a reasonable fashion.

That's Cody Church's 450 from grand junction,Colorado. He usually races 250 west and must have the opportunity to race a 450 while the east 250's are racing.

They routed it that way to keep the shock and throttle body warm.
