From RacerX Observations:

"In the ‘I want to know more about these bikes’ department, I had a team manager tell me to go back and watch some of Ryan Dungey’s crashes last year and how, amazingly, the bike never stalled. This told that gentlemen that he was running a Rekluse auto-clutch in his RMZ and I went back and it appears the person was right. The Dunge’s bike is 40 feet down the track from him and is still running when he picks it up.

I also believe that Stewie’s running one as well after watching him crash this weekend. The bike never stalls and his hand is off the clutch completely. It’s a smart move by these teams to run one, the new models of Recluse Clutches act just like a normal clutch in every way but one--they allow your bike to keep running. If I was in championship contention, I would definitely make my riders get used to one."

Alot of teams have used them for quite awhile. Many other companies make similar clutches.

A Rekluse Auto Clutch should be the first and only after market part necessary for 450's. They are nothing short of amazing for tracks or trails. The only drawback I have found is that sometimes I will crank the bike while it is in gear and bump the throttle, better hold on.

It depends on how you set it up. You can run it where it engauges at a high enough RPM to do away with most engine braking, or a lower RPM to keep the engine braking.

they should all use them... even though the fuel injected bikes are easy to start back up.

They are not illegal, even privateers have been using them for years. There are several different models, most pros just use the one that keeps the bike idling when crashed.

There have been rumours of teams using them dating back to 01 when Fonseca won one of the first.125 regional supercross titles What I would like to know is why haven't these clutches made it into production, teams been using them for 10 years now

We've landed on the Moon! What will they do next?.......(sorry I had to be a smart ass)

There was lots, I mean LOTs of discussion of this last year (in SX and MX) and even the tail end of the year before in the outdoors. It's not all that new and a lot of riders use them.

I've been running a Rekluse Core EXP in my KX450F for the last two years, I'll never own another bike without one.

Vet riders on 450s should take special note here. Not many haven't had a late moto tip-over and stall. Restarting that 450 when your tongue is dragging on the ground can cost you po.sitions or even a win.

One of our local Vet standouts has been using Rekluse since the prototype stages. He also has a shitload of championships and trophies.

Canadian MX2 champion, Tyler Medaglia, ALWAYS insisted on Rekluse on all his MX1 rides, and, I'm guessing his 250 is also equipped that way.

A Rekluse will save you more points than a $1000.00 pipe will earn you.

Rekluse should be paying you for that last line.

There was a thread started about this last year sometime, and I have believed it all along. I noticed it when a couple of the Geico 250 guys went down hard last year and bikes were still running, Dungey's as well and noticed alot of others since then. But who knows, maybe the factories or teams have developed something on their own
