I know a noob shouldn't just jump right in, BUT here is the holy grail, Bigfoot, and I just had to finally sign up and shout it out.

Ossa and now Sherco with FI 2 strokes. KTM, Beta and Gas Gas to follow? I would not expect the japs except Yamaha to come out with a FI 2 stroke. Even with the extra few pounds from a FI system, the cg is still lower than a 4 stroke. Plus with a 15-20% better fuel economy one can carry less gas so the extra weight of the FI is negated.

Doesn't that appear to be a cast body? Could be closer to production than one might think, unless it's something rigged from a different application.

Meh. Not sold on it, at this point do not want/do not need. Interesting though. Those Sherco's sure have a massive ignition cover.

Anyone notice that despite the case reed design catching a lot of the blame for Honda's 02+ 2-stroke engines not being strong out of the box, everyone who still makes 2-strokes have switched over to case reed design?

I like it, makes it quicker to re-ring a piston.

My YZ250 is not a case-reed. It is, however, quite bitchen. As for the Sherco, I like what I see. 2-strokes are the wave of the future!

I too, like Peely, don't mind jetting. I don't really see a need for a fuel-injected 2t, but if it revives the market, then flame on!

Already a thread about this, nooberman. A 4 year old thread at that. I'd suggest the handy search feature next time.

I know, I posted in it. Nobody there does anything other than talk theories about what and when, That goes way back to '09 from Orbital and etc. including this:
http://www.dirtrider.com/features/spy-guy-2015-honda-cr250r-direct-inje…
and a guy who made his own.

This is the first I know of that is pre-production and not a rumor.

That is why it got it's own thread.

APT Smartcarbs hahahaha.... they'll take your full-price deposit and put you on a waiting list for 2 years while they go find someone to mass produce it cheaply. Talk about a business venture that put the cart waaaay before the horse. Great idea, extremely poor execution.

Thanks for the good photos. I'm not sure if I'm seeing 2 fuel injectors or 1 gas and 1 oil?

I think it's 2 fuel injectors (one on each side) and 1 oil injector down lower in the middle. The chart shows it best.
