Currently races are Live Saturday Afternoon at an inconsistent time due to what time zone the race is taking place in.

I am a fan but didnt watch one live broadcast last year because I have better things to do on a Saturday afternoon.

If the Lucas Outdoor Motocross Nationals were on TV ( or a device ) at a consistent time Saturday evening you would think more fans would tune in ?

And if DC and crew were not beholden to a Live TV schedule, they would have time for a twin coasts 125 regional championship series on Saturday afternoon, during the Nationals at tracks the 100 additional riders would fit in pits at.

Win, win win. More television viewers, 2 strokes racing, more participation ?

Live broadcast is not needed IMO people are too busy to sit around the TV for 3 hours during the day. A well produced 1 hour show is what's needed...spend the money there.

Yes I think your correct. The fans who watch MX are people who want to be outside on Saturdays and not wasting their day watching tv. If they moved past live tv and put on the race at night I do think they would get more viewers and more people would even go to the race itself. It is just the nature of our sport and those who love it.

To be honest with connected and smart tv now if they posted it on the internet each Sat night I think people would still watch and it would be cheaper to produce.

Mav TV in Ohio is also in SD on DirecTV. I simply watched the online RacerTV broadcast unless the race was on the major network...the quality is far better online than MavTV

If motocross was on TV at 7pm every Saturday throughtout the summer. Like Monday night football and you could count on watching it. And there are no other sports on but baseball...

Still have a pay per view live online feed... Like Youthstream. For the diehards who dont have a life Saturday afternoon.

A consistent time edited broadcast wouldnt bring more viewers ?

Hope this new satellite internet is fast enough to watch online this summer. The SD sucks. Oh so did the night race we had here years back.

One thing that needs to considered is that there are still a LOT of homes without high speed internet or with limited high speed internet. The world seems to assume everyone can watch everything online but there are still lots of suffering people with no high speed or capped high speed, myself included. I'm not alone. I hear of this problem from lots of people, still in (almost) 2017.

That needs to be taken into consideration.

Yeah, I have DirecTV as well. I'm happy with it overall but MavTV is SD here too and it sucks.
But my wife and rarely watch it live. Too nice outside to be sitting indoors. So we just dvr it and watch it that evening with a few cocktails,

Direct TV has alway showed MavTV in SD. I switched to Dish because they had MavTV in HD, then they dropped MavTV and I had to switch back. I'll take any racing on tv at anytime and record it. Hope outdoors can continue to grow and not go by the way side because of a expanding SX series.

all it really needs is efi 2 strokes..
40 Bumblebees into the first turn sounds better, is more exciting and for some reason is more attention grabbing.

How can you have a well produced one hour show when there are four 30 minute motos? That's two hours of racing.

I enjoy watching it live. I use the NBC Sports app on my amazon box and get all four motos in HD. I would be more interested in a commercial free subscription before I would want to ditch live motocross. I believe you can easily go back and watch all the motos anytime through the NBC Sports app so if you are not interested in watching it live then watch it later.

Won't matter once we go to a 24 round SX series. (Stirs pot)

I like the current TV arrangement. If I'm not around Saturday I DVR the race and watch it Saturday night. I think it would be pointless to watch if it was condensed. I like being able to watch it front to back and live as it is more exciting that way. I just save riding for Fridays and Sundays in the summer.

Live tv is interfering with the time available to run a 125 program.

An edited 2 hour show at a consistent time would draw more fans.

You could still watch the live pay per view feed if that's what your into on a Saturday afternoon.

Fox sports. Or Fox Sports1 would be a better channel than whatever MavTV is. Hehe

You can DVR the races and watch later at your leisure. You can put a TV in your trailer and watch while at the event of your choice. You can watch the SD races any time later in HD from your computer. Just saying, if you don't want to watch live at home there are tons of other options.

The 125 2 stroke thing is a like a flaming bag of poop at the doorstep, I'm not stepping in that. But if you think an extra 100 racers are going to show up....give it up. Face it, we are near the end guys, unless Iphones go back to data-less flip phone Nokias the ship has sailed, and 2-strokes aren't going to bring it back. Kids want an Iphone and apps these days, not a new dirt bike that they can't even ride anywhere within 2 hrs of their mega townhome complex - DC said it himself. Society has changed, enjoy it while you can.

*Edit - I guess I just stepped in it.

I like the programming the way it is. Sure, it would be nice to have Mav in HD but I'm just glad thru Directv that I can watch 4 hours of motocross on TV, and a lot of it live these days.

That is a good thing. Let's not regress to a highlight show.

Not hearing anyone say they spend Saturday on the couch watching live motos.

So why the big deal with live TV ? More fans watching moto at a consistent time on a National channel on Saturday evening would grow the sport.

You could still dvr it. It doesnt have to be a condensed version. Just edit out the boring parts, like when Roczen is running away...

If you wanna watch it live, then watch it on pay per view ? More money then in the pocket of the sanctioning body for a better production ?

If you bring back inexpensive 125s the sport has a chance. A Competitive 250 4 stroke at a national level is out of reach dollar wise for most to be competitive.

Agreed, a lot of people watch F1 and it's mostly on Sunday morning in America. But it's consistent.

I'm sure that the powers behind moto agree but they are losing money in moto and having to pay for what they are getting now.......

Yeah, that's what we need, let's show less than half the motos.... Great idea

You would have to say the outdoor ratings on TV are not gowing because it is on a channel that basicaly sucks.

And it is on at inconsistent times on a Saturday afternoon in the summer when people have better things to do.

Even on MavTV at a consistent Saturday evening time would draw more viewers than currently. Evil

shocked there are grown adults in here that don't realize that saturday nights are way more desired (and therefore harder to get), and that it'd be on fox or fs1 if fox wanted it—there is nobody at mx sports that is picking mavtv over fox. they're taking what they can get.

Disagree. I make time to watch the racing, because I don't want to catch 45 min of highlights after.

So the worst idea ever is to still show racing live on the internet, and to move the show to a more visible channel at a consistent time ?

Fox sports may be interested if ratings were showing growth ?

The actual concept is to not be a Slave to live Saturday afternoon TV at inconsistent times. If MX Sports really wants to grow the sport they have to take a page from the Euros and run a 125 class on Saturday at the Nationals. The current live TV schedule will not allow time for another class.

Well I just DVR the both motos and watch them later that night or Sunday night. But I do agree that they should show it at a later time, not live, because everyone that watches it is out riding while it's on.

I go radio silence until I can watch full motos on ProMotocross.com, the Lucas Oil website. Push it to the TV thru Chromecast, profit.
