Im whipping to the right. I start off heading up the jump at an angle ( / ) like so. As I start to take off, I lean to the left but it never goes really far. Its a 50ft tabletop. Do you guys pull the throttle side of the bar towards your chest or do you push the bike over to the right? Please help, Im only getting the ass end out a little bit. Im getting frustrated!
Thanks!
Thanks!
BTW, I think RC did a How-to video with TWMX a few years ago on how to whip.

I've found turn down style whips the easiest and most natural for me to do, I can't do a normal whip to save my life.

RE: GUN | MySpace Video
Ive watched that RC video quite a few times but idk if hes pulling the right side of the bar back or pushing it over.
See? It's easy, any squid can do it!
And seat bouncing.
I stink!
Then the bike is just going to float on its own and you will use your lower body to pull it back in. It's kinda hard to explain because it's one of those things you don't really think about what you're doing so sorry I can't be more precise. But the technique for the takeoff is lean left, turn right.
But like everyone says, practice. Maybe start off on a smaller jump but being more aggressive with the whip and build up to the 50 footer.
From what you said above about the direction you are wanting to whip, try just jumping normal and turn the bars to the right. On the way up start scoping out your landing of where you know you are going to land. Then just look about 3 foot to the left of it like that is where you are going to try and land and that will give you a feel of a very small whip. Progress from there and let your skills build without going all freaking crazy.

Find a table or double into a corner and imagine trying to turn the bike in the air. That may be a good way to start to visualize it and help your body move the bike. May be easier than looking down a straightaway.
Thanks for all of your posts and for taking this serious, I appreciate the advice.
The guy that said to practice corner speed hit the nail on the head....unless you're on of those professional practice riders then best of luck with your whips.
