I'd go to Huron and walk out on the track and make Bailey crash in a turn...before he gets to the big jump.

Yup. That's what I'd do.

If only...

It's O.K., though.

David's gone on to be an inspiration for people in all sorts of sports.

When Jo Martens raced my late Jan Houtermans prepped KX500 same day.

Was gonna ask if you remembered who's BD it was that day. GP rider, but think might've mentioned it once.

Still remember whos?

You just skiped right on past the 70`s,, I would take Carlsbad for one of the GP`s. Not in the 80`s but that would be my going back in time race.

If I could go back and change motocross history, I would go with TeamGreen's idea in a heart beat. If I could go back just to watch a race, I'd have to say The Massacre at Saddleback.

Farleigh Castle 1985 when Thorpe came from last or Namur 89 Thorpe v Geboers when Thorpe beat the Belgian on his home track. Legendary moments legendary tracks. Also Anahiem 86 seemed like a good event to be Johnson v Bailey. That way I would get to see four of the best riders of the 80s Smile

I know you guys would like to go back and save David. And that is my thoughts too. But to think of what wouldn't have happened, had he not crashed. Would we still be trying to get any of the fast riders to ride with neck braces? I think so. Would we have seen him win the iron man? Maybe, maybe not. But David has the most heart of anyone person I have ever seen. When people told him not to race after he was hurt, he got more drive. He has helped riders hurt, cope with being hurt, more than you can imagine. I believe everything happens for a reason, and David's injury has helped many many many people and maybe even saved many people from similar incidents. He is a hall of famer, of life. In my book. Not just motocross, but in life.

As far as races, I would have liked to see the Desnations that we kicked butt all 3 riding across together...

Dude , that was really well said. I couldn't agree with that more. I actually think that injury David sustained fueled his drive even further in life! He has proven beyond a doubt that people with an injury like this , can still push them selves to succeed in anything they choose. The dude is a legend and a huge inspiration!
