Bare with me.

Would we be pissed off at Grant for helping Kawi by getting out of the way? Just imagine that Grant comes out of nowhere with some incredible speed and is leading the NYSX in front of Eli, the white flag just came out. Pretend Dungey had an issue of some sort and he's buried. Would we not totally expect Josh to help his team? Would he not feel obligated to slide three points to Tomac given the situation they're in? It seems to me like it's just convenient to bag on KTM due to the circumstances, Ryan and Marv are almost always at the front. They actually can utilize team tactics to get the title, while most of the other teams aren't even close enough to see with it with binoculars. If it were multiple teams battling for this title you better know they'd all be using team tactics. I think most of us wanted to see Eli win, or at least have the points closer for Vegas, now team tactics look bad all of the sudden. It's really just perspective.

I'm the biggest Tomac fan out there, if the roles are reversed and there's one lap left with Grant in front of Tomac, I'm yelling with no hesitation for Grant to fuckin move while expecting nothing less from the KTM boys in the same situation.

Dumbgeon. Tomac has been the Hunter all year. Of course we want Grant to move over so he can claim his Title.

We didn't specify COMPLETELY roles reversed, points and everything. I just meant the race, not the points and the season.

I tried to specify for just this last weekend only. Not switching the points in any way.

I am pretty sure he would, given the circumstances. Josh has no payday coming for series points and I'm sure Tomac would be glad to pay the win bonus out of his pocket, if it mean winning the championship with the pass. Shit, Kawasaki would probably give Josh a bonus on the side for that move.

Nobody asked you to post a comment. Why even open the thread, if you're not interested in the content.

Josh did pull over AND slow down for Eli. Eli was just in too much of a funk to actually complete the pass. Then he started clanking jumps and lost time to Josh.

And to answer the question, I don't think anyone should expect anything less from the #2 guy on any team.

Grant was leading Tomac. Grant could not go any slower without sitting in a lawn chair with a hot toddy and Tomac still could not pass. So your question is?

Depends if Josh re-signed his contract, yet.

Nice description lol Grant basically had his hazards lights on. Just begging Tomac to go around him. Tomac was too busy imploding to complete the pass.

But to answer the OPs question: Yes Grant would have absolutely "made a mistake" and Eli would have taken the win. Without question.

Everyone will have their own opinion about this... personally, had Tomac been in 3rd and Musquin have up the spot to Dungey, I wouldn't have had an issue. But because the points gap was already increased, I would have liked to see Musquin be permitted to race/win by KTM simply because 3 points "most likely" won't decide the title. Then again, maybe those 3 points are just enough if Dungey has issues... so you can totally see all sides of the arguments.

Let me add this... you and a good friend race the same class at the LL regional. You are in a qualifying spot in the 3rd moto. Your buddy is 1 spot back and needs to pass you to qualify. You can afford to give up the position and still qualify. Do you let him by so he qualifies for 'LL?

Different situation bro, that situation assumes both of you have a chance to make it based on position. In the Dungey/Marv situation, Marv has no chance of winning the title so a 1st or a 2nd isnt important in the overall championship scheme

But back to OPs point... Grand was trying to let Eli by. Didnt you see him looking back and taking oddball lines? Looked to me like he was trying to let him go

No I got that, Im saying the situations arent an equal comparison.

A better one would be if you were in 4th but had no chance of qualifying (due to points or whatever) but your very close friend who was right behind you could make it if you let him by, would you?

That is the situation that happened last weekend

Why do people who complain about Marvin conveniently forget that Grant was doing everything in his power to let Tomac by?

The only difference would be that the Dungey fanboys would then be crying instead of the Tomac fanboys.
