I've always enjoyed watching Alessi race. He always seems to have the love and heart for racing and even injuries don't derail him from his desire for a championship. I thought Mike looked great out there. If he can maintain that aggression until the outdoor season he may very well return to his old form and run up in the top 3 consistantly on an MX track.

Not taking away anything from his ride, he rode well all night.

From what I saw he was in 6th, slowly gaining on Tedesco in 5th and pulling away from Short in 7th all the way up to lap 12-15 or so. Almost passed Ivan. But then something happenned and he dropped to 9th. Had a bad lap there but they never showed it on TV. I think he rode great compared to last year.

Alessi always gets a few good starts at the beginning of the season...

The only difference is that although I like his new found aggression on an sx track I believe that his chances of a championship rests in the mx series. If starts won championships at the professional level Mike would have a room full of trophies and #1 plates. Other than that, he's one of my favorite riders and I hope he can keep turning it up during this sx series.

I think once they make it to a track with a tougher whoop section Mike wont lead the race after getting the hole shot after that said whoop section...not taking anything away from Mike he rode well all night but a different track and I think he struggles more IMO

I was pretty impressed with Alessi last night. He looked solid in the heat and was up front in the main. Not sure what happened with him towards the end but I thought considering the equipment he did well. I believe he was first Suzuki?

His fastest lap was the 6th, so maybe fix laps 7-20 Huh Last year it was laps 2-20, so he's moving in the right direction....

He starts up front and fades so bad. He has been racing his entire life and has won races. He should not be fading that bad. If he starts up front he should stay up front. He's got the skill. Not sure what the real problem is. Maybe confidence.

He was on a 450 last year. Short rode the 350.

Edit: I think that was just for the National's.

Alessi rode well last night. He had a bad lap and dropped 3 spots - maybe a crash or something. Great TV work for us not to see it or even hear about it.

But Alessi is not a top 5 guy in SX - that is why he fades. He should be a 6-10 guy and that is where he ended up with 9th. I bet he will be 7th or 8th at end of season - and that will be good results for him in SX.

If I remember right it was a little incident with Tedesco. Nothin other than 2 bikes trying to occupy the same point in space. Laugh. Alessi rode the best I have seen from him in a long time. He wasn't doing his usual dramatic fade to back, but, was in contention most of the time.

Alessi rode the best SX I have ever seen him ride. At one point he was getting ready to pressure IT fairly deep into the race, I've never seen him do that. Not sure what happened in the later laps but it looks like he's figured out the days of being a one disipline rider are over.

Mike did very well, considering SX isn't his thing.

The two things I really enjoyed watching last night were Weimer's charge, and Allessi's effort. For those who are obviously bench racing on conjecture... MA came across the line after the second lap in 5th with Stewart right behind him. He held onto that 6th spot for most of the race. Allessi rode hard and closed a significant gap on Tedesco, who was also riding well. At one point he got by for a second but lost it back on the next corner. He made another attempt or two and ended up going down trying to force the issue on Tedesco. Could have picked a slighty better passing attempt, but passing spots were limited. His fast lap was .25 faster than Brayton's, in fact it was bested only by the Big 4 and Weimer. He didn't drop anchor or make any unforced mistakes, overall he looked really good. Maybe you should fix your analysis, I'd suggest you start by watching the race.

That was one of the best supercross rides I can remember Mike having. The Suzuki seems to suit him well.

He looked good to me, I hope he continues. If you look at who finished behind him, they aren't slow by any means. In fact the 450 class is stacked.
