So obviously this isn't a clean pass, that's not whats up for discussion here. The question is was is well deserved? My vote is yes it was warranted, cross jumping like that is a great way to hurt someone and yourself

It's hard to tell how close the leader was when he cross jumped. If it was within a half-bike length I'd say it was deserved. Cross jumping is one of the only things that I wouldn't tolerate.

Ben Watson & Steven Lenior.... Lenoir hasn't made a big deal about it, they were going at it the whole race apparently, I have seen that move done a few times there , sometimes it works , sometimes it doesn't.

Hard racing ... that's all .

Looked like a poor place to make a pass, track was narrow and one line in that section. Regardless, no take out move is ever justified in my opinion. It shows frustration and poor judgement, Watson could be laying on the ground too.

No prob with either move......been on the receiving end of both.....its racing! Especially the block pass or berm stuff what ever you call it.......Good move IMO because he had a tire length on the other guy and had a forward direction as he made the move.

Cross jumping for line choice or next corner setup ...also no prob IF you have room!

Now If its done by looking over and changing direction right on the jump face when you dont even have more than a bike length space....then yeah, dick move. Expect to be force fed your teeth back in the pits.

I had a guy cross jump me once (on purpose trying to take me down) up a jump face right out of a corner and as the rear of his bike was about to take out my front I snapped my bars as hard as I could turning into him. He high sided right in the air and landed in front of his bike which slapped him pretty good..... I skidded to a stop being tangled up on top his bike. I saved it (dont know how!)and just for good measure I did a quick burn out on his bike for him .......ripped his side panel right off and shredded his seat for him too......He and I always clashed for some reason!Grinning

If that had happened, guy in front looking back while cross jumping, then he should have been planted.

I think countering a crossjump with that particular takeout is an unjustified escalation. Maybe park him, but damn I think that was over the top.
