An MX injury when I was 11 does not allow me to walk on hardwood, or concrete in bare feet without pain. Although it has always hurt to walk, I had carpet in my houses since then. It made walking uneventful. Now that I have removed the carpet and put down hardwood in my house... I have found the old injury is back, 38 years later - walking is painful - 2 months now.....
Just bought slippers at WalMart...Memory foam... OK now. So comfy.....Easy to walk....But, They make my feet sweat....Must wear socks to make them comfortable.

I am now my grandpa. I so understand.

At least you got a moto reason. I just wear'em cause I'm old and they're comfy.

I hear you Tim. Growing up in a beach community and living, working and playing everyday on the beach I had flinstone hard feet until 1998 when i shattered my feet on the elevator. I have had to wear shoes or slippers ever since. My whole house is now tile instead of carpet and I have to wear something always. Its not easy having fun.

lol Tim, I hear you. Getting old is "interesting" to say the least. My body makes so much noise when I get out of bed it wakes up my wife.....and thats before the farting! Tongue

Slippers are fine, but socks AND slippers??? Damn, you ARE old!! Laughing

Pretty soon you'll be walking out to the mailbox in your slippers (socks) and housecoat and wont care if the wind blows your housecoat up so the neighbors can see the wrinkles!

Good to see you still hanging around, Tim. I have the same problem. Instead of slippers, though, I wear flip-flops. I have stamped concrete throughout most of the house & if I walk bare-foot, it kills me. I like the F-F option, 'cause I can throw em off when I go into one of the bedrooms (carpeted) & they don't make my feet sweat...//TJ
